Rain on your wedding day
Just wanted to know if any brides had rain on there wedding day, and did it mess up your pictures. Did it look dull?
I am so eager to go into a park for nice clear pics. But, it does not look like I will be doing that anymore.

Re: Rain on your wedding day
it rained on my day. it slowed down long enough for us to go outside and get some cute pics under an umbrella. even though i'm still disappointed that it rained i'm happy with my pics and the day overall. most photographers are very creative and will figure out things for you to do so that you get different types of shots. don't worry about it too much. you can't control it, so just go with the flow

It rained on & off all day on my wedding day. We couldn't have our ceremony outside as we planned but we did get most of our pics done outside.

Re: Rain on your wedding day
It rained on and off all that day and I honestly didnt care. We got enough pictures and he captures the view of the water on the video when the sun was out and there was enough sun for us to do some photos (before ceremony) -- but most of the others were done inside. I loves the architecture of where we got married so much I was glad for this, though.

Same here. Our pics were by the water. It was cold and drizzly and buggy, but looking at the pics you could not tell at all! The sky looked pretty, you could not tell at all the weather was bad.

we had fog and rain on my wedding day and it didn't stop anything!!! It cleared up near the end of the reception so we ran out during a sun shower for some gazebo pics

Re: Rain on your wedding day
we didn't have rain onthe actual day - but we had rain every day for a week before the wedding and the day of was overcast and gray.we took some pictures outside, and they didn' tlook bad at all, in fact that overcast sky helped put the emphasis on us, rather than the sky....if that makes any sense.
It's hardly even noticeable in the pictures....

Re: Rain on your wedding day
my day was hot & humid - instead of the crisp clear September weather i was hoping for - and it started to rain as I stepped out of the limo to go into the church - and stopped as soon as i got in church - lol! Then the rest of the day was on and off sunny and cloudy - and of course when we went to take pics by the lake at Coral House it was cloudy. Nothing you can do about it! Just relax and take in the day!!

Re: Rain on your wedding day
Yes! It started out with drizzle on our big day. It did stop during cocktail hour. So, we had some outdoor good pic opportunity. Our outdoor cocktail hour was move in to our dinner area rooms. During dinner it then rain heavy with T-storms with thunder and lighting.

It poored the morning of. The limo came and tht is when it stopped. If it is cloudy ure pics will be a little bit better anyone cause no one will be squinting cause of the sun.

Re: Rain on your wedding day
It rained the morning of my wedding and I had a pretty gray day but you can't tell in pictures at all. My friend had a horrible rain storm and the few picture that we took outside were gorgeous - it looked beautiful. I heard somewhere that a gray day can actually make for better pictures - not sure if that is true though...The only thing the rain messed up for me was I wanted to go to a park near my church for out door pictures but photographer thought it would be too muddy so we left church quickly and headed to hall to catch the remaining daylight and take pictures on their grounds (where there was cement!)...

Re: Rain on your wedding day
It rained on and off on my day too. But we just made the best of it. Took a few pics outside the church (it wasn't raining at that moment) and then took the rest of the pics inside our hall. Our photographer knew exactly inside where to set us up and we got 3 or 4 different backgrounds inside.Good luck!

Re: Rain on your wedding day
It poured in the morning, then was misty on the way to the church then became overcast for most of the day with bits of sun peeking through before raining again during the reception (talk about a rollercoaster of weather!) However, we got amazing pics right on the beach with the waves crashing behind us and rays of sun coming through the sky. Don't sweat it if it rains -some of the cutest photos I've seen are under umbrellas! And most photographers will tell you overcast skies are best for pictures (although I think part of that is to make the bride feel better
) Just make sure you have a backup for indoor pictures if absolutely necessary.

Re: Rain on your wedding day
We had a very gray day. When i took pictures with my girls outside i was upset but the photgrapher said its actually better for the pictures when it isnt so bright out (dont know if she was trying to make me feel better but the color in the pictures did come out great) then is drizzled when we came out of the church so we opted to take pictures at the hall just incase.Welcome New Vendors
