Random Question

Do any of you girls have a nickname...and not just a pet name that DH calls you, but like a nick name that you grew up with, that continued to stick in your adult life...

im asking cuz i dont have one...and it makes me sad! LOL cuz i think its adorable when people have cute/weird/random nicknames that their friends and family always call them...

my dad tried to give me one last year when i told him i was sad i didnt have one, and he decided it would be 'poopie head' lol so yeah that didnt stick! haha

but DH's has one and i think its the cutest thing in the world... its phopher like fofer, but he makes sure you spell it with the ph! lol it came about when he was a little boy and he couldnt say christopher...so he would always say his name was christophopher! to this day everyone in his family still calls him phopher, or phoph for short...lol he is even uncle phoph to his nephew! and the god phopher to his godchildren! lol

it made me think of this question cuz yesterday i posted about my bil having a baby boy and the boys are kicking ***, and there are no girls yet...and someone wrote...i see a little phophette in your future! i loved it! LOL

mine is just g...nobody calls me gina and if someone does i usually dont turn around cause im so not use to it..

sometimes dh will say gina..and im like dont call me that it sounds strange

now my neices and nephews call me gigi which i loooove and my old softball coach use to call me froggy

maybe its cuz i used to put cicadas in a jar so i could hear the noise they make when i wake up. i even remember how they smell... i forgot about that!!

my nickname growing up was 'erie-berrie' or 'berrie' stemming from my name -- Erin.

i dont think DH had one either... but ive called him 'poops' since he was 15

it's so funny that you want a nickname because i HATED having one.

i had a nickname from my friends that lasted all the way to high school, and i haven't even told it to DH. he hasn't ever seen my HS yearbook because the majority of people called me by this nickname. i hate even thinking about it.

DH had a nickname because there were 4 people in his graduating class with the same exact name, and it stuck with him through college. he cringes when people refer to him by the nickname.

needless to say, we are picking names that are short and sweet for our kids!

ETA: i thought of two other nicknames that i had besides the one i mentioned before. my mom calls my 'Lou' (no clue why), but she's the only one i let call me that! also, when I wasn't married and my last name was Shapiro, a lot of people thought they were creative and called me 'Shappy.' I put an end to that immediately!

Everyone has just called me Leesh all my life.. short for Alicia lol. My DH has a cute nickname though - Stomach Ache lol. His name is Dominick, and when our flower girl was little, she couldn't say his name, so it came out as Stomach Ache and everyone still calls him that - all of the cousins, aunts, uncles, EVERYONE! lol.

Most people just call me Stace instead of Stacey- but my sister gave me the nickname Scooch (i forgot why-) and she calls me that.

Yes, I had a very popular nickname in HS. The only person who insists on calling me this anymore is my best friend's mother, which is odd. And then people I haven't seen in ages.

But most people call me by my actual name.

My real name is Kristin, but I prefer Kris and go by that.

Booger is another nickname that I've been blessed with.

And KC. It's derived from my AOL name, which was made when I was like 12...the 'KC' stood for Kurt Cobain and I ended up meeting people years later on an AOL message board that was geared toward Pearl Jam fans. Some of us met up at a show like....8 years back...and have since become very close friends IRL. They call me 'KC' to this day. Not all the time or anything...I think it just rolls off the tongue. I don't mind it.

Nope not really. DH calls me Momma. And a lot of my friends did for awhile (much to DH's dismay) since I made it my Myspace name.

Hmmm I guess DH's is DOC. It's his initials. And now I'm a JOC, same as his sister.

my niece calls me jan-jan and i love it cuz its so cute. but only she or my sis (her mom) call me that. sometimes DH does

other than that no real nicknames from childhood. DH calls me 'mcmannis' a lot actually. its after a wine we drink, and i once said if that was my name id be janis mcmanis...anyway, it stuck. so he calls me that alot. lol. very odd in public.

I met DH, his name is JOhn, as JP. so most of my friends know him as JP. pretty funny...cuz at my bridal shower, MOH was giving toast and talking bout JP being in my life...and then SIL was like 'wait, who is JP?'

i have no idea why or how it was picked but my family has been calling me that since i was born. it puts a smile on my face when my super young cousins use it

my little sis is BABY/BABE
my mom told me that my family started calling her that because that's all i would call her and i would get upset if someone used her real name. all of our family and friends including dh mil and sil call here BABE. they think its weird using her real name. lol

ummm yeah. i'm the queen of bizzare nicknameature. BUT i will say this - my name is elizabeth, and people just randomly started calling me liz in 5th grade, and it stuck and I HATE IT!!!!!!!! and no matter how hard i try, i can't make it stop!!!!

Mine is Jenaben!! One of my Aunts gave me the nickname when I was a baby and it has stuck ever since! I even have it on my license plates.
