On Saturday, DH and I were driving to the store, and the song 'Higher' by Creed came on. I love that song, but immediately, I was thinking about my jerk of an ex-boyfriend, b/c that was one of his fave songs.
Do you girls have a song that you automatically link to someone especially an ex?
I have a few!
Higher by Creed and 'I Knew I Loved You' by Savage Garden I link to my 1 ex-boyfriend.
Anything by Howie Day or Guster I link to another ex. I also associate him w/ the Humpty Dance And NOT cuz of what you think I had actually never even heard that song til he made me listen to it Some 80s child I am, I know!
Anyway, I was thinking of these songs last night on my way to sleep and figured I'd ask you girls, too!

omg we were watching THE SWEETEST THING and the song 'You've Got It Bad' by Usher came on......I blurted out: 'This song is soooo me and my ex during winter of 2002!' DH looked at me like I was crazy.
also the song 'Duces are Wild' by Aerosmith reminds me of another ex. he used to sing it to me all the time cause I have brown eyes and the 1st line is: 'oh, i love to look into your big brown eyes.' whenever it comes on i think of him singing it..

OMG this happens all the time when I hear certain songs! Some songs will just forever be associated with exes! There are sooo many songs...there is at least one song for each ex that I have had LOL. But DH has his own songs

I casually dated a guy a few months before I met DH, nothing serious. But he got me into Tori Amos and sometimes when I listen of course I remember who got me into her. I think thats why DH hates when I listen to her albums.

I know, it sounds bad, but in all seriousness, he was like, anti-sex I swear! And we had a long-distance relationship and only saw each other every couple of weeks! You'd think we'd never have left the bed I think there was something wrong with him

Oh MAN. DH and I have been together 7 years so a lot of these songs that are reminding you of ex's - they all were around when Dh and I were dating which I find kinda funny.
Anyhow - songs that remind me of ex's include:
1) Rusted Root's album with 'send me on my way' - reminds me of a guy I dated my senior year of HS and almost re-dated right before i met matt. dave matthews band also reminds me of him, and 'breakfast at tiffany's' by deep blue something ... and also anything by hootie.
2) we like to party by the venga boys reminds me of another ex and mulcahy's because we met there. he hated that type of music but we danced to it A LOT
3) anything by tori amos reminds me of my first boyfriend. her first album had just come out when we met and he got me into her from the very start and i think of him, that summer and just my life at that stage whenever i listen to her. (still love her, lea!!!) except raspberry swirl, that reminds me of a guy I dated in college because we listened to it when we fooled around once
4) jennifer paige's 'crush' reminds me of another ex in college.
I could go on and on, not because I had a lot of ex's - I don't think I did - but because music is very, very important to me, it's on almost all the time and I am always singing it -- and I just associate a lot of things with music and always look for meaning in every song.

yes i can associate so many songs with times i used to party, going to the clubs and them playing those songs over and over and going nuts to those songs. That i can have a bigger list for.

yes! I had a rough time in college with someone and I was so upset I decided to drive home for the weekend and I will survive came on the radio and I blasted it and sang on the top of my lungs. Every time I hear I will survive I think of that person and my rough time but not in a negative way, it's almost empowering. Wow that was deep

my first b/f runs the table on songs: - boyz II men's 'i'll make love to you' was our song. - boyz II men's 'on bended knee' was the song he tried to get me back with. - celine dion's 'its all coming back to me now' and toni braxton's 'how could an angel break my heart' wrre the song I ODed on when I found out he cheated on me.
I dont really have any song associated with the guys I dated after him! lmaoo

oh yes..that song by Lonestar..amazed...it was what we called 'our song' with an ex..I hate that song
