Do you think people who cheat, I'm talking about the habitual ones, who slept with person after person while in a long-term relationship, bascially pretending they are single, can that person be an committed relationship with a different person and not cheat? Would you be in a relationship or marry someone like this if they one day told you about their past and what they had done to their significant other? Do you consider the age of the person, like if they were really young, you could look past it? Anyone think this is a big nono, like me, and it's telling on a person's character, no matter what the age?

Re: Random Question..Cheaters who get married
hmmm this is tough..i guess i would not know what to do unless i was in the situation..if dh had told me he had ben a cheater all his life..would i have been with him..it depends how far along into th relationship he told me and how i felt bout him at that point
im no expert on anyting but to me..someone could have had been some way with one person then meet someone who changes them and they change
but then gaian i know some people who have always cheated no matter with who thy were with
so basically im no help at all

Re: Random Question..Cheaters who get married
i think it depends. I think everyone makes mistakes and its possible someone cheated in the past but knows it was wrong and wouldnt do it again.
but then I think that other people who have a long history of cheating probably won't change no matter who they are with.

Re: Random Question..Cheaters who get married
I'm not one to talk about cheaters and relationships.. I have not experienced something like that. But I ALWAYS believed once a cheater always a cheater.
Now if there were a cheater in there younger years and then get older and commit to another relationship they prob learned there lesson. But this is a dificult subject because I believe every case is different. Men are men!! Thats all I have to say.. So never under estimate their thoughts.

Re: Random Question..Cheaters who get married
I think if they’re a habitual cheater, who can carry on two and three secret relationships at once, they will probably always be a cheater. But those people who may have cheated on a boyfriend or girlfriend once, I don’t think they will still cheat. I seriously think that cheating is a disease like alcoholism. Some people just have it in them.

Re: Random Question..Cheaters who get married
I think for the most part that people who cheat habitually are going to cheat later on. . I think if someone did it once or twice when they were younger or in bad relationships that does not indicate their general character. . I am NOT saying that age or being in a bad rel are excuses and make it right. . all that I'm saying is one action does not make a life . . that said I think what you are talking about is more chronic and will continue to be. .

Re: Random Question..Cheaters who get married
I was in a realtionship and was cheated on left and right and needless to say he keeps on going like the energizer bunny. I must say he learned from his father as well and just glad my son is not around him to learn this also. Bottom line once a cheater always a cheater!!!!!!!

Re: Random Question..Cheaters who get married
I think it has to do with maturity. There are people out there who want to just have fun and don't see anything wrong with it and eventually might settle down. But on the other hand, there are people out there who cheat b/c they like the 'game'. It all depends on the person and I don't think its fair to say someone who cheated will never be able to settle down, people change.
I'll be honest, I cheated on my boyfriend of five years. It was only once and the guy I cheated on him with is......DH! For me, I think I was looking for a way out of that relationship and was too chicken sh*t to just call it off. In the end, I ended up marrying a great man.

Re: Random Question..Cheaters who get married
I cheated on my bfs all the time in high school and college (kissing cheating) and it took maturity (time) for me to stop. I never felt guilty bc I didnt think what I was doing was wrong I always had a justification (ie alcohol) and never considered ommsion a lie. I WOULD NEVER CHEAT ON DH I made a commitment to him and would NEVER put myself in a situation that would lead to infidelity. Only time and life events taught me right from wrong it is not learned over night for all people. Everyone and every situation is different.

Re: Random Question..Cheaters who get married
I think age does have SOME reason to sway this decision but I think overall if someone is capable of being a habitual cheater then that says bunches about their character and I would in no way trust that person enough to marry them.

Re: Random Question..Cheaters who get married
meh... i cheated on my college bf a few times. in the past 7 years and 11 months, I never cheated on DH. And wouldn't. Now, we were 'on a break' for a couple of months about 5 years ago. I did hook up during that time, but once we got back together that was it (same with him).
I think it realllly depends on the person.

I completely agree about the maturity and everything said here.
And I actually cheated on my boyfriend of over 2 years just once with DH. It was the only time I've ever cheated in my life and I would never again obviously. I did it for similar reasons - I was looking for a way out because not only was the relationship pretty much over at that point, but mainly because DH and I had been best friends who had fallen in love over time and I couldn't be without him any longer.

Wow, that's so weird! Well I'm happy that we both got good men and got rid of the bad ones lol.
