Randomness

Randomness

I know this is odd but I was just thinking about it today for some reason...

Now, in no way are DH and I even attempting to start TTC yet. I am still on the pill and thats pretty much our only form of BC, but its been all we've used for 4 years. But, DH and I definitely do not have sex all that often... a few times a month, maybe. I am the one who wants it more, and sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn't. But, a few times a month is prob not gonna cut it when we're TTC, huh?

Does anyone else think of stupid things like this? I don't even know what made me think of it, really. I mean, there's the chance we could get lucky and get pregnant fairly quickly, but I don't tend to luck out that way, especially where my body and health are concerned. It worries me sometimes b/c DH is already 31 and since we prob won't even start trying to another year or 2... I guess we're gonna have to kick up the bedroom activities when the time comes

Okay, I am done being random now

Re: Randomness

I never really thought about it like that! Dh would be happy if it was something we had to do a lot! We aren't gonna start trying for another year and a half. At first we just want to just see if it happens naturally. But then I guess if that doesn't work I'll have to track AF and see what days i'm ovulating. I have to learn more about that stuff! I guess you don't have to do it a lot more, you just have to schedule for when your body is 'ready' for it. I'm tired just thinking about TTC!

Re: Randomness

haha i think about that too sometimes

i am NOT on BCP... we use the good ol condom lol.... obviously that is NOT as effective as the pill, but i was on the pill for close to 10 years... i just wanted to be done with it

i have a HUGE fear of not being able to have children - even tho DH tells me all the time how fertile my whole family is (my mom is one of 8 and i am one of 21 grandchildren) and how he doesnt think i have to worry about that

I have that fear too, even though, so far, I have no reason to. But I do think about that a lot, especially since I'm 30. I can't wait to start TTC, unfortunately we're not financially ready at all.

I have that fear, too!!! DH's sister pops kids out with no problems! I only can hope I get pregnant as easily as she did all 4 times LOL!

Re: Randomness

i think thats something every woman thinks about...no matter if there is a reason to have them worry about it or not!!

of course we would try everything to have a child ourselves... and if not, we would adopt.. but it would KILL me never to know how to feels to carry & give birth to a baby

Re: Randomness

I know. I worry too, b/c I have HPV (like millions of others out there) and I have had sooo many colposcopies and even a LEEP procedure done already (where they cut away a piece of your cervix). And natually, my doc at the time had to tell me that it could prevent my getting pregnant in the future Of course, then she clarified and said if I had MANY of these procedures done only then should it affect my getting pregnant. But still! She planted the thought!

Re: Randomness

I just had to share that b/c I posted this last night, I had a dream that I was pregnant! My belly wasn't too large, def not 9-months looking, but I was in the hospital and they told me they would have to do a C-section. I was laying on a gurney and my mom was there with me. She kept trying to call DH cuz for some reason, he wasn't there. And then I remembered that SIL was working, so I took myself upstairs in the hospital to go find her to let her know they were doing a C-section. I got back downstairs and got back on the gurney, and there were all these doctors and specialists and they told me that they couldn't operate b/c the baby wasn't ready yet They showed me this X-ray looking thing that was supposed to be my baby in my tummy, and there were all these weird things in there w/ the baby!!! They gave me an IUD (I think thats what its called) that they told me how to put in myself (gross) and they said that eventually, that would remove those things that were inside me w/ my baby! I was so disturbed by this dream!!! I didn't even get a chance to talk to DH about it yet, cuz I don't wanna discuss it at work. Sheesh!!!

Well I totally agree with the thought process because I was thinking the same thing, but when it came down to us actually trying to conceive, there is a small window that you can...so I decided we would do an ovulation kit from like CVS and when I was ovulating we up'd the bedding :) Also there was something I had read on LIF that was like a TTC plan that was working for people so I printed it out and we followed it...it required a lot of bedding but we enjoyed it... Some people just wing it and of course it works but I was worried it wouldn't so took a few steps to make sure we were on the right path!

I think about this too bc DH is not very active in the bedroom lately. It really p*sses me off.

Re: Randomness

yea I worry about this too- we had soooo much more 'fun time' before we got married & lived together. I'm 31 now and we wont start trying till next year, so I worry we have a lot of things working against us

Re: Randomness

i think it depends on how fertile you are.....think about it - people get pregnant by accident a lot - and i think that the first time you try there is def potential to get pregnant - what i am trying to say is that i don't think everyone has to 'try' - i think you don't start really trying until you do it and nothing is happening - kwim?

i wouldn't worry about it - i plan on doing our regular sex routine (that sounds really funny! ) just without protection - and if at that point nothing is happening then we will have to start 'trying' - ovulation preditcting and lots of sex hahahaha.....

but i wouldn't worry about it now since it may not even be an issue for you.....i know so many people who got pregnant right away or got pregnant on accident....so that makes me nervous for the opposite reason as you - i have a feeling i'll get pregnant right away and we won't even get into 'trying' but who knows......we don't have to really worry about it yet right?

and that dream sounded weird - i have been having A LOT of preggo dreams lately too! they freak me out!
