Really annoyed with my IL's

Thanks ladies.. I feel better. and actually feel really bad for whining. She is really sweet and probably (hopefully) didnt even realize what she did.

Aww jen...Im sorry. I have a similar situation wiht my ILs...they adore their soon to be ex daughter in law and now they are just stuck with m e! it really hurts...

recently they invited the entire family to foxwoods for the day minus Brad and I. We only found out about it when they called to ask if we could let their dog out. So awful.

Im sorry that they are being so hurtful to you. Just know you are beautiful and wonderful and they probably don't realize thes tupid things they do or say. Do you think you should talk to them? Maybe next time give her a frame WITH a wedding pic already in it? Stick it to her!

Love you jen...can't wait to hang out again soon!

Oh Jen I'm so sorry!! She probably didn't realize how she was drooling over BIL's gf BUT it's still really annoying!! I'd be upset too! So lots of for you!! AND you were an absolutely GORGEOUS bride

I have sort of a similar situation, My MIL is aways soo supportive of her other sons, and everything they do is great and perfect and when it comes to Me and DH, there is ALWAYS a comment, and always a dissatiscation with what we do!!

Thanks ladies. I feel like a baby whining about it. I just told DH and he says I am reading into it all too much and it is probably true.

I just dont feel 100% comfy with my inlaws and I dont feel like she really loves me. Anyone else feel this way?

Have you spoken to your hubby about it? Because thats something that shoudl be addressed....

I am just as sensitive as you, so it would be itching me beyond and I wouldnt be able to sleep or breathe...

Also, the cigarette smoke- totally know what you mean and the fact that he was doing that must have raised your blood pressure...through the roof!

You should have taken the frame out of the draw and said, heyyy whats this doing in here - put her on the spot!

My MIL is 84 and has alzheimers/dementia, but is flat out rude. DH tries to blame it on that, but she is perfectly nice to him and her other son, and her grandkids, just rude to me and my sister in law. She keeps her house at 80 degrees, and it's always so hot that we wear tee shirts in the winter when in there. This weekend we were there, she says to me 'it's really hot in here, isn't it.' I agree with her. She then says 'if you don't like it stop coming by.'

I try to laugh it off. That particular one amused me, but other times it hurts.

And she did not speak to me once on our wedding day. Not even a hello, let alone tell me how pretty I look.

I think next time i go over and she is not paying attention I am going to take the picture out of the drawer and put it on her night stand so she can see it EVERY night.

I am so sorry your going thru that!!! If I saw the pic like that I would have totally called her out and said 'hey isnt that our wedding pic...., LOL!!! What would she have said to that. To be honest if she doesnt like you for some reason then scr*w her....really you shouldnt have to kiss anyone's ***...your her dil now and she should respect your marriage to her son. If she drools over your bil's gf then oh well....its not worth your aggravation or hurt feelings over someone who really doesnt seem to care that she is hurting you. If it really bothers you then speak to your dh about it and see if he can help if not then live your happy life free of her and her smoking husband (btw - I hate ppl that smoke in front of me cause I am allergic to it as well...but if it were me I would have asked him to stop)

I dont think my MIL realizes that she is doing it.. bc she really is a sweet woman so I didnt call her out on it because I would have felt so bad if she got upset.. I dunno im too nice I really like her so it little things like this hurt me because sometimes i feel like she doesnt even notice me. Its dumb i know

and the A hole FIL knows he cant smoke around me or DH's 90 yr old great uncle but he does it anyway. Dont even get me started on that man!

Jen honey you are SO not over-reacting! I would be PI$$ED! WT F is wrong w/ people?? I sorry honey - you are such a better person than she is! & Let me tell you for the record - I havent seen your DH's brother's GF - but I already know that YOU wer the most beautiful that day! Your pictures are gorgeous & you truly were an amazingly beautiful bride! Love u hunny!

If it's any consolation, I had to hear it from my MIL when I got to view DH's 1st wedding pics in his parents album, about how DH's ex-wife's dress was SO pretty - how their engagement photo was SO beautiful - how their wedding was SO wonderful (b/c it was a week b4 Christmas)...ugh...seriously...DIDNT NEED TO HEAR ALL THAT.

people are truly brainless & thoughtless when they speak...

ETA: I would mention to her about the picture in the drawer - if you have a good enough relationship w/ her - I would ask her why first & depending on her response I would tell her how much it hurt you after you went out & bought a nice frame for it that she has it lying in a drawer soemwhere...JMHO

Awwww mama! Im so sorry! I have a similar situation with my IL's. They have a pic of Eric's ex (the one he had his son with) on a shelf in their living room. Its a small picture and its of her and their grandson when he was little but everytime I see it It annoys me!! Also in one of the bedrooms there is a collage type picture frame that has all pics of Eric and his ex!!! Granted my stepson sleeps in that room when he sleeps over there but its like cmon! He's married now.....TO ME!!!!Its fine to have pics of his mom in the room he sleeps in but I think its inappropriate to have pics of them togther (like her sitting on his lap) when he's married to someone else!!!
Luckily I never go in there so I dont have to look at them!
Im sorry IL's can be such @ssholes And you know you can vent to me anytime!

In a nutshell - YES I have bad ILs (especially MIL). I am just happy they live out of state. I have finally learned to just let whatever they say/do go right over my head.

DH thinks I over-react. That is because they are just as bad to him as they are to me but he grew up that way so he's used to it.
