Really need tons of prayers - UPDATE
Ugh...I would have posted about this last week but I felt maybe it was just a relapse and everything was gonna be fine.
DH's brother has Multiple Sclerosis. He was diagnosed about 8 years ago. He was living in Nashville at the time and his roommates called to say he wasn't getting out of bed. He also wasn't making any sense, his memory was suffering. So he moved back in with his parents.
Years later, medication- he can function somewhat on his own but not well enough to go back to work. So he's been on disability all this time.
A week & a half ago, we find out he's in the hospital. He took a serious downturn - wasn't making any sense, had no sense of time (which happes often) - he couldn't even remember DH's name. He didn't even realize he was in the hospital til days later. The doctor said he figured he wasn't taking his meds and wasn't eating and that was the cause for the relapse.
He made it back home, wasn't getting too much better. Needed help going anywhere, could barely stand on two feet. His parents were so concerned, and were considering putting him in assisted living because they were too worried about leaving him home. I just couldn't believe it.
Now he's in the hospital again and he's even worse.
THIS I don't believe- his stepmom actually called and is preparing us if he doesn't make it.
I'm so sick over this. I refuse to believe it. For one thing, MS is not typically a terminal disease. But I'm still so worried.
Anyone out there know much about MS?
I just couldn't imagine another horrible thing happening to DH's family....it's bad enough they lost his oldest brother when he was killed by a drunk driver.
A few years after that, Dh's brother was diagnosed with MS. Like they've been through enough.
Sorry for the long winded-ness....we just need some serious prayers out there. And if anyone has any knowledge of MS that would be helpful.
Thanks everyone for listening...
UPDATE****
Thanks for listening to the long winded-ness. Wow, I'm amazed any of you got through it. We were so scared last night- just the way they were talking, as if he wasn't going to make it. He was basically in a coma yesterday.
Today, he's much better. not totally out of the woods- he's remembering some things, but strange things...he asked his stepmom how her parents are doing- they've been dead for years.
But at least he's awake and coherent. He's going to be moved to a rehab facility either today or tomorrow. His stepmom said he's had these relapses in the past, they last for 2 weeks- but it hasn't been this bad yet. Thank goodness things seems okay. It really was too scary.
Thank you all SO MUCH for your support. It was a scary night for us...
and thank you SO MUCH for your prayers!!!
