recipes that use red wine ?

So, DH and I are giving up the booze/wine/beer for lent

with that said, i still have at least 1/2 bottle of some yummy merlot left. i dont want it to completely go to waste, and i know it will taste gross 40 days from now

soooo...any good recipes that call for red wine you could recommend (preferably w/o meat, but DH eats meat, so i guess i can make him somethin )?

thanks so much

Re: recipes that use red wine ?

Tomato sauce! I always spruce it up with red wine.

Also marinades.

Re: recipes that use red wine ?

I think you're okay to use it for cooking.

You're giving up the act of drinking - I'm guessing.

The alcohol cooks out anyways.

Technically, I think you're right BUT the rationale is if you cook with it, the alcohol burns off and you're left with some decent flavoring.

I have a rationalization for everything
