Recommend your bank $

I hate hate HAAAAATE our bank, Ive had enough with them charging me ridiculous fees....I need a nice bank-not one that wants all my money

Suffolk Federal Credit Union and they don't charge fees. I use two other banks also but SFCU is really great Peggie.

Washington Mutual aka WAMU!!! free checking!!!

If you have any savings i highly recommend putting a chunk into ING Orange...an online savings account linked to a regular account...we put all our $ for the wedding and made 4+% interest on it...not sure what the rates are now...

We do but our savings is at NCPDFCU so we are gettin I think 4.8% on it so we keep it there, I just dont want our savings and checking accounts to be at the same bank. We had a checking and savings account at Astoria and when our checking went below 100 they would take the fees from the savings....so they wiped out our savings that we had there and then started taking the fees for the $0 in our savings from our checkins...not happy about paying over $200 in fees

Im going to have to there as well as SCFU and see...ive heard nothing but good things about WAMU that is for sure.

Oh crap...you are getting good rates then, I'd leave it...most banks give suucky interest unless you do a CD...i like ING cause you can get the money in like a day or 2 if you need to...

.WAMU will let you have like $1 and no fees....freaking Bank of America used to screw me with fees...i changed my personal & business accounts to WAMU...they rock!

WAMU or Commerce bank.. i think they have little or no fees..

CDs these days unless you get a magical promotion are horrible.. you are better off keeping you $$ in an online savings account because the rates are higher.

WAMU and HSBC offer online savings...i'm sure others do as well..(you register on line and you dont even have to leave your desk!)

i've had WAMU for years and love them!! no fees for anything. i just switched banks to citibank since DH and I opened a joint acct, and so far it's pretty OK, but I've only been using them for like 2 weeks, but i know DH has been using them for years, and he's had no problems with them at all (which is why we opened our joint acct there).

WAMU, free checks, no monthly fees, totally free to open free online bill pay, they have a promotion where they will give you back $75.00 after three months of a good standing account & will deposit it right into your account once the 90th day comes. Also there is no minimum needed in your account to keep it free and you can start with as little as a 1.00 to open it. Also after one year, if you use your debit card as a credit card, each time you buy something, points add up, after a year you will get back up to 54.00 ( I think thats the maximum that the lady told me) its automatic as well. You cant go wrong, plus best part about it, they opened up branches all over the place and no long lines in the back. Good Luck, I just canceled my Commerce Bank Account, they used to be good but now have made way to many errors with my account and there monthly charges went from 0 to 15 or 20 a month. So happy with WAMU.com

*** Oh and they also give you one free overdraft a year, where as if you write a check out and the funds are not cleared or there, they will pay it for you, you have ten days to deposit the money. Great Free Feature. After that one, there is a charge unless you have a linked account for overdraft

WAMU seems to be the favorite, im going to have to go there and see whats up.

Right now I am fighting with Astoria, our checking was -$123 b/c of their fees->35 a month b/c we werent putting money into it or taking money out of it funny there WAS $200 in it...So they have taken 323 from me just b/c I wasnt depositing money or taking money out...BS!!! They sent us to collections and I am in the midst of battling it out with them on it

I bank with Sovereign, and have a joint savings/checking account at Commerce.

Commerce suxs because the require a min amount of $100 in the checking account. Screwed me when they implemented this. I never keep money in my checking acct because it does not earn interest.

Never had a problem at Sovereign. I have a personal checking, savings account, and a joint checking savings account with my Dad.

Guess what, I just got home from work and guess what was in the mail, my WAMU free 75.00 card that I was talking about, they gave it to me on a gift card/ master card. Yeah, I could use the extra cash, I guess its been 90 days and my account is in good standing.

as of today i despise my bank [commerce] so no love there. my other bank [astoria] was going to save the day but I got there at 3:45 and they close at THREE during the week. ?!?!??!? So I hate all banks today

I do however love my savings account with ING. its online and has great rates
