I keep it at room temp. As for how long is a good for? I think a pretty long time (it will taste weird if it has turned). the bottle doesn't usually last long around here.

Oh yeah -- that is not long at all. I have a red wine recommendation Boujulas (sp? Very inexpensive and only good for the holiday season but YUMMY. I will admit that with that kind sometime I leave it outside in the cold (not over night) but during the duration of the evening -- gives it a nice chill. It is good warm too!!!!!!

Red wine definitely lasts a while after being opened - but once it has turned you can tell just by tasting it!
White wine can be stored in or out of the fridge, but I always refrigerate after opening and serve it chilled.

Re: red wine related...
Our wine fridge is broken, so I put red wine in the fridge for 15-20 minutes before drinking it to get it to about 62 degrees which is around the right temperature for serving red wine. When I had it in the wine fridge, i kept it at 57 degrees and would open the bottle and let it sit for 10 minutes before drinking it so it would warm up a little.
When I vacuum cork a bottle, i find it can be good for about another 5 days.

yes. but take it out 10 minutes before serving to warm it a little bit. if its too cold, you can't fully taste it.

DH keeps red wine out of the fridge, and it lasts for weeks, if not months. He buys the really big jugs of it, and I never drink it, so it lasts for a really long time, and he's never said anything about it going bad.
