Regift!?!?!?!?!?!

DH's parents friends just sent us a gift that was wrapped as our wedding gift and i opened it up. It was a cake serving set and i am convinced that its a regift. The box was not taped shut, dust was on the box, items were not placed in the right place and the box had dents on it. I admit I have regifted in the past but its been new and unopened gifts.

Anyone else get this for a wedding gift? I know its the thought that counts, but i think it strange do send something to someone that is obviously old and has been opened.

We got a few 'strange' gifts from my DH's family. They are things I'd never even consider registering for....since I don't even know what one of them is..... I'm not quite sure if they are re-gifts or whether they genuinelly thought we could use those...contraptions.

At least its better than the 'non' gift or card that you DIDN'T receive from a couple you were forced into inviting by your mom

We got some for our shower and engagement...but not wedding

yup... we got some regifts... one was actually from my best friend shes getting married, too... and it was a crockpot she had gotten at her shower that she gave to us as part of our wedding gift. she had to own up to it though cause we got the crockpot we actually registered for from somebody else and its not smoething you need 2 of....so i asked her where she got it and she admitted it was a regift and is gonna take care of the return and give us the money back... BUT, she did give us a gift certificate to LL Bean, too.... so it wasn't too too bad
the worst was that we got a few things from kohls from someone that looked a little beat up. it was stuff we didn't need so we went to take them back and found out they had been purchased on clearance- the total cost of the items was $7!!! and this person bought a guest, too!!! i mean i know its not all about the money, but come on- $7 for a wedding gift???

My cousin gave me a Lenox trivet for my shower. It does not match my china at all, now did I register for it. It clearly goes with some other set

I dont think I got any, but Im plannin on having a huge garage sale from all the gifts I got at my shower LOL I dont know where they came from and dont want to ask, and Im too lazy LOL

Anyway, just wanted to tell you, that your post reminded mew of that move with Will Pharrell (spelling?) and the bread maker

I got a re-gift at my shower.
I got 5 (odd #) crystal goblets and I went to return them to Fortunoff and the saleslady said they didnt exist there.

I got the biggest ugliest glass bowl that ever was created. I couldn't take it back to whereever because it was a plain white box that had no writing on it.

It's still in my basement.
