Registries-How many were completely filled?

We are approaching soon our two month anniversary and we stopped receiving wedding gifts about three weeks ago. We registered at three places--my mom really pressured us into registering for crystal, candlestick holders and other higher end items, and I was just curious as to what percentage of your registries were filled? I am debating about deleting some items off one of our registries that are sets and have not been purchased and just keeping on the ones that still need to be filled, just in case there are the friends and families who decide to buy a gift six months down the road.

I guess a spinoff of this question would be of this question and recent postings is what was the 'latest' gift you received? Six months? A year? Two years?

Thanks!

Re: Registries-How many were completely filled?

Not even close

i got *most* of my china ( I had to buy 4 place settings myself b/c people thought I made a mistake asking for 16)

I got my sheets, but not the comforter

I got my flatware, but only my casual flatware

I got all the smaller stuff, like towels, placemats, utensils

I got my pots/pans & knife set

That was it

I had to buy my glasssware, my formal flatware, 4 place settings, my comforter, all my bathroom stuff, my informal dishes, my informal glasses and my bakeware.

Re: Registries-How many were completely filled?

We still have a bunch of china that hasn't been bought. We're keeping everything on the registries for another few months, in case people want to get Christmas gifts from them. (Which we hope they do! )

That's what we are thinking of doing as well. If anyone asks us what we want, we'll just direct them to the registry.

I had the opposite problem. I registered for sets of eight for everything and with the exception of my everyday dinnerware, I received duplicates of a ton of glassware. We didn't have room for 24 wine glasses! Returning and getting the credit has helped with now buying my dinnerware which is being discontinued

Re: Registries-How many were completely filled?

I know that probably 95% of my registry was filled after my shower. I did get some gifts from my registry at my wedding - so after that I maybe had a couple things left which I puchsed myself. I know I have looke don ralatives registries for gifts ideas - both Christmas and 1st Anniversary. Esp for things like wine glasses and crystal.

We received everything off of our registry. The last few things that were left his parents bought us for Christmas.

Re: Registries-How many were completely filled?

None of my registries were filled.

I did get 10 out of 12 place settings of my formal china.

And 8 crystal wine glasses.

But only 3 out of 12 of my stainless steel place settings.

I did receive a wedding gift at the 4 1/2 month mark -- not from my registry. It was a very odd box of spices -- most of which were just strewn in the box unpackaged. It looks like a box of bay leaves. Don't get some people....

Re: Registries-How many were completely filled?

What's been interesting is the number of people who have sent us gift cards for our registries versus sending the gift.

I was the first amongst our inner group of friends to get married, so I kind of feel as though we were the great experiment. With that said, everyone in that group did give us a gift. Right now the number of people who have not sent us anything outnumbers the number of gifts we have received.

Re: Registries-How many were completely filled?

well, we're almost at the 4 month mark. We did get a gift last month (check in the mail)

with regard to the registry, here's what I got:

We bought all of our own formal china about a year and a half before the wedding because the store made a mistake and put it on clearance. Also, as stuff was getting discountinued and went on sale, we bought it. So, we bought our own bar ware (4 martini glasses, 4 water glasses, 4 double old fashioned, 4 all purpose wine, silver tray, martini shaker, ice bucket, and wine cooler). We also bought all of our everday towels and 2 sets of decorated towels, 1 vase, bwl, cake stand, butter dish, and candlesticks all from the same set (all went on clearance WAY BEFORE the shower or wedding)

That being said, for the shower, I got: all of my appliances, all of my bedding, all of my casual china, vaccuum, 2 table lamps, cake stand and matching cake knife, table cloth, cookware set, pyrex set, corning ware set, clocks and a bunch of other small items.

Then, we bought our own formal crystal and formal flatware...

Re: Registries-How many were completely filled?

We also received almost everything off our regsitries. The only things we didn't get were our formal wine glasses (which I didn't want to register for anyway), and a wooden salad set.

We bought some other stuff off our regsitry after the wedding with gift cards we had received and took advantage of the 10% completion discount they offered too.
