Remember our shower gift thread? Well now its time to post your funny wedding gift! JUST FOR FUN!
OK, now a gift is a gift, we all know it is not manditory and I do appreciate ALL that I got at my wedding.However, it is now time to share the funniest gift you got. It can be a gift, an IOU, or a SMALL amount you found funny, or whatever
This is JUST FOR FUN......I'll start.
I got $25 along with the Perfect pancake maker
I can even make heart shape ones!

One guest gave us a $130 check. I thought that was a very odd amount.Also, someone gave us cash in the envelope that we mailed our invitation in. That was weird.

I got a $30 check from one person. Another lady gave me just a rubbermaid garbage pail

I got a card with $18 in it from 2 colleagues. I thought that was such an odd amount until one of these colleagues explained the significance of the number 18 in Judaism - it means good luck! So at first, this was a funny wedding gift, but now that I understand the meaning behind the $18, it's not so funny anymore. They also gave me a Tiffany's candleholder.

There were two that I found particularly amusing.There is a story behind the first. I had my shower in April (married in July). One of the people invited to my shower did not come with a gift, but told me that she had 'ordered' my gift and was waiting for it to arrive. A few weeks later her MIL (a friend of my family's) dropped off her gift. I opened it up and it was a spatula and a wok. Inside the wok was an engagement card addressed to the girl
When we opened our wedding gift from this girl it looked familiar. It was a Waterford bowl - the same one we gave her last year for her wedding. She re-gifted our gift back to us!
The second gift was a mink stole complete with a head and feet. I will try to post the pick. It is essentially a carcass.

We got a box from one guest. Yes just a box!Another person gave us a blank card. Nothing written on the outside, nothing written on the inside and of course nothing in it!!

We got a gift certificate for a portrait sitting at DH's aunt's photography studio. Why she would think we would need any more portraits after our wedding is beyond me. And her studio is in Connecticut!
What was she thinking? She didn't even include a card!We also received a check for $201. Why? I just don't know.
Oh, and don't forget the used waffle iron. How do i know it is used? She told me!!!

We got some sort of mini glass staircase. I think it has meaning in Chinese, but I am not sure.Another gift we got we can't figure out who it came from. They are two glass/ceramic chalises (sp?). Very colorful and we just can't figure out if they should be used for show or drinking!!

Our invitation laquered into the ugliest black velvet box I have ever seen in my life. I'd take a pic right now if it wasn't hidden in the bottom of a box in my mothers attic.

We got a card from one of DH's single guy friends. But it was an ANNIVERSARY card. Shows you how much time men put into picking out cards...We also got a check for $301.00.

My DH's cousin gave us a personal check that looked like one of those huge business checks. We keep telling everyone in the family that John Peter gave us the biggest check for our wedding and everyone is shocked. Then we tell them the actual dimensions of the check. LOLAnother friend gave us a card that said something about I wont waste your time with wedding wishes & blah blah blah, here's the check. She didnt write that, it was the actual card. It was pretty funny.
