Repost from BHB - You Ladies have dealt with this already!!
ok - I need advice -Our ceremony doesn't start until 7 pm - we are getting married at Chateau La Mer and getting ready at Melville Marriott - which is prob a good 20-25 minutes from each other - but no closer hotels! We are taking pics before La Mer at Argyle Park in Babylon which is prob 20 min from hotel and about 10-15 from La Mer. When I spoke to Nicole at Duet the other day and explained what we want to do - she said to be ready by 12:30!!!! Ceremony isn't until 7!! I know they are the experts and I know picture taking always takes long - but I feel like that is so many hours ahead - I don't want everyone to have to get ready super early and I feel like I don't want to have to be made up and hair done so many hrs before - I feel like by the time I am walking down the aisle I will look like a sweaty mess (august 1st) - what do you think of the timing - should I ask to push it later a bit? Does it sound right to you?
Thanks!!

You know I have little to offer but...You think they may want you there that early so you have 'refresh' time between photos & the ceremony maybe? Also just 'in case' time for incidentals? Our ceremony isnt until 11:30am but they want us ready but 9am which I really don't get since we ARENT taking pictures together until after the ceremony. So go figure!!!

Re: Repost from BHB - You Ladies have dealt with this already!!
My thinking is, if they aren't taking pictures of you any time before the park and aren't taking any photos of you with family until after the ceremony/before the reception or cocktail hour then... 30 min. ride to the park (give a few min. buffer), 1 1/2 hours for photos (approx., depending on what you have planned and how many people are going), 20-30 min. to the hall. Sounds like 2 1/2 hours before you need to be at the hall. How much before the ceremony do you have to be at the hall? Add that time on too. Hope that helps some!

I agree with you..Id be worried about being a sweaty mess...we dont have the same photographers, but our ceremony started at 630, had to be in the upstairs for 545 and our photographer came at 3. I dont know if this is helpful or not..

Re: Repost from BHB - You Ladies have dealt with this already!!
I think you should start getting ready around 2...don't forget you will be taking pictures WHILE you are getting dressed and then you have to travel to the park, take pictures for a while (don't forget you have to include BP members, and they need to be ready and they could run late), then you have to travel to La MEr and take MORE pictures before your ceremony there!! If you figure one hour for just the process of getting ready,. you'd be ready around 3pm, 20 minutes to the park, you'd start taking photos at 3:45 or so...that only leaves you 2-3 hours for pictures in BOTH locations. Maybe they meant 'ready' as in to start getting dressed and ready to take pictures of getting dressed...

That does sound VERY early to me - we took photos first and I was only getting ready around that time (our ceremony was at 430) I didn't finish getting dressed etc until almost 250-3pm.I would think the earliest you would want to take photos would be like 3 or 4 IF you want to spend like 3 hours taking photos.
I would also say remember the earlier you get ready the more wind blown etc you might look by the time you walk down the aisle
