Re: Repost from Home boards--Buying vs. Renting- Woulda, Coulda, Shoulda
This is what I am going through right now. Here are my thoughts. Currently I rent. All my utilities are included, I pay only phone and cable. We are saving for a house, but you need to put atleast 50-70K down on house to have a managable mortgage.I don't have to pay for electric, home owners insurance, lawn care, water, taxes, etc. In my minds eye I am saving some money for the time being.
My thoughts are if my husband and I buy a house I will be forced to work when I decide to have children. To me that is what I am struggling with right now. Should I be more concerned with paying a $2,500 dollar mortgage or staying home when I have a baby.
