Repost from LIF: Anyone have a male dog NOT neutered?

I am not sure if this is the reason, or if it's just a male dog thing, in general.

Ozzie is not neutered b/c DH plans to breed him someday in the next couple of years. Recently, I have been noticing that after he's been laying in a spot for awhile, there will be a wet spot under him. At first, we thought it was drool b/c we'd find it after he'd gotten up so we assumed his face was there and he was drooling in his sleep. Plus, it doesn't have an odor like urine would. Well, last night, he was laying on the couch next to me for hours. He was in a very deep sleep. When he did move, I noticed a big wet spot under him, and it was no where near his face, if you know what I mean!!! The weird thing is, I still don't think it's urine b/c it has no odor! I know this sounds gross, but could it be semen? I feel like that would have an odor, too, but maybe I am wrong...

I have never had a male dog before so this is all new to me! I also don't know how to get these stains out of the couch! I am so disgusted!!! Advice, anyone?

I would talk to a vet about it. Also. Your DH doesn't have to keep your dog unfixed. At the vet they can extract the semen and freeze it. Then snip snip.
Its kinda funny when you think about it. Your DH dog is having wet dreams. LOL sorry about your couch.

I know he is! It's sort of disturbing to me though

He is a hornball all the time! Thankfully, he doesn't do any humping, but I swear he knows when DH and I are playing and tries to get involved - GROSS! And then he ignores us afterward since we shoved him away

I didn't know that thing about extracting his semen though... thanks for that tip!
