Retin-A

Retin-A

Has anyone had any success with this product? I wouldnt say I have acne but do have weird light red spots under the skin and the dr said it was actually mild acne. And I have been prone to random pimples on my face, chest and back. Again this is not bad but still its annoying.

So I got some wash and retin A. When I use them together my face burns so I stopped the wash and only using Retin A...which is supposed to help with wrinkes too. Anyway, now my face is so soooo so so dry. I hate it. Should I give up and just deal with my MINOR issues. Again, these things are minor but they annoy me because I always had clear skin up until last year.

UGH that burned my face badly. I had to stop using it right away bc my face turned red and hurt, even when i showered the water hurt my face. I heard they make a more mild one but not sure how that one is

jen u should definetly moisturize in addition to the Retin-A. We sell MDF (really good skincare line) at bare escentuals which has the 'Vit-a-Plus' products..they contain retin-a and are not recommended without an additional moisturizer. i dont know much more about it, but i do know this. hth!

I had issues with Retin A too and had to stop using it. I started going to a new derm in December and he gave me Duac and Differin and I only use them at night and alternate so i use each one every other day. I also started on an antibiotic called Minocyclin that I take once a day. My skin has cleared up soooo much and the irritation is minimal because I only use the topical stuff once a day. He also told me to only use Cetaphil Cleanser because its very mild.

honestly i think everyone is different & u have to just find what works for u! I have a friend who used Differin and it DESTROYED her skin. so it just depends! so annoying i know - but it's worth it once u find what works!

i know i already posted about the retin-a..but just an fyi; i don't know how sensitive ur skin is..but mine is VERY - it's always been and it's gotten even more sensitive since i've gone on BC. A little while ago Denise wrote about how she was foaming up dove for sensitive skin bar soap right in her hands & adding plain white granulated sugar to it & then massaging it over her face. I've heard of the sugar thing before so i gave it a shot...i can not even TELL YOU how awesome my skin is from doing this. i have really gotten a lot of compliments..even from my mother (and she is my worst critic ) I know it's probably the retin-a that's bothering u, but if u do need a gentle was it's something to try. i've been doing it for about 3weeks now and its awesome. It really exfoliates & leaves ur skin so smooth. u even feel a difference on ur hands. I've struggled a LOT the last year or so with finding stuff that works..the dove on it's own was not enough, but once i added the sugar it made a big difference....so thankyou denise!

Oooo YAY so glad to hear its working so well for you i actually slacked the past 2 weeks and havent done it and the moment i stopped of course i get 2 annoying big pimples lol but while using it my skin was great. I definitely have to do it again tonight, thank you for reminding. Just glad its working its funny how something you already have in your house and dont have to spend all this money can be better than so many expensive products.

What does the sugar do? Just exfoliate?

exactly. but when u massage it with the soap it kind of melts onto the skin. i let it sit a minute as well. it's awesome! majorly exfoliates the skin/pores..gets all the gunk out.

i've heard that a sugar & honey combo is supposed to be amazing as the honey acts as a hardcore anti-bacterial. i haven't tried it though - i can not imagine rinsing off honey! lol. u would DEFINETLY need to use a washcloth of some sort!

btw jenna - so sorry if this seems like a highjack on ur thread! really just trying to help lol.

this is typical for Retin A - try to stick w/it just use it less often. BUY THE SKIN DRINK Jenna - it helps like NO OTHER. Use it during this process. You know that I am on the Internal Retin A w/out it(cream) I don't know where I would be

I have used Dove my whole life and do like it. I recently tried sugar too and yes it makes my skin and shiny and pretty but doesnt rid me of the weird redness going on

Most probably you should do it every other day. Try that.

I had great success with RetinA. Did you get the gel or the cream?

One of the things they say is to not apply to your face for 30 minutes after washing your face. This makes a big difference.

No its not rosacea. Its hardely noticeable unless you get right up in my face. But its just tiny red dots under the skin - sometimes they are worse than other times.
