Ok girls...DH and I have this debate about towel usage.
I use it once and then wash the sucker.
He uses it twice. (when I don't grab it in time to wash it before he uses it again that is)
What do you guys do?

We have to conserve uses since we only do laundry once a week at MIL's...we usually use 2 towels a week each to dry off with, I use 2 facecloths a week to shower with, and DH goes through 3 towels to wash his face/shave with. And I had to fight him too, because he wanted to use once and discard...MIL laughs now because even at home, he was the only one to use a towel once then discard, fussy monkey that he is.

We change our towels once a week. I don't think that's gross at all.
People are really 'passionate' about their towels in both over- and under-use, I find.

LOL!! I guess I'm in the minority! We rent an apartment in a house with our own washer/dryer in the basement so that's not an issue thankfully. He thinks we are wasting time and water, but it's just a thing with me. I think I'm a fussy monkey!!

So true! It's quite a debate. My mom raised us that way so my sisters and I use them only once. Michael's family uses them several times...they think I'm nuts. I prefer fussy monkey.

I remember at my friend's bachelorette party a few years ago, it came out that she and her then-FH (now ex-husband! ) used the same towel - JUST ONE TOWEL - and that they always showered together. Meaning they were both using a soaking wet towel soaked with each other's shower every single day. AND housing it on the floor. AND changing it once a week.
Now that I can say, very firmly, is GROSS.
Anyway we had a whole debate about it and she didn't see what the big deal was!

Though I have to say, in my household, my father was the only one who would use his towel more than once, and the rest of us used once then discarded...but my mom does laundry every day. And in a perfect world, once we have a house, we'll both revert back to our fussiness and use once...but now with our current situation, this is the way it has to be!

OMG!!! Why share the towel for crying out loud?! I mean, I enjoy sharing a shower once in a while, but not on a regular basis and DEF not the same stank towel!

i'd say probally between 3-5 uses. Honestly when it smells i will throw it in the hamper. It could be TWO times, it really depends.

You use it once, your going to have to buy towels so often that way!!! Towels take a beating in the wash.
I figure when I dry off from the shower I am clean as a whistle. So I wash my towels once a week. I use two, one for my hair and one for my body, so all my gross hair products are all on one towel. Since I start laundry on Thursdays thats when I wash them. Unless of course its summer and we are showering an unusual amount, salt water, chlorine, etc. Then I would change it more frequently, but I would just use a new towel and still wash them all together once a week.
DH is grosser, lol, since he is always in the garage with oil and gas and stuff. So his would be every 4 days at least, but he is only here about 4 days a week so it works out perfectly right now.
If I accidently leave my towel in a wet heap then I will take a new one.
I grew up with a cleaning lady who came once a week so she changed our towels and sheets once a week. It was always fine.

Looking at the poll it's totally normal and you're saving yourself a lot of time. The reason this came up is because I was saying that I do 10 loads of laundry a week for only 2 of us. Isn't that a lot?

YES that is A LOT!!!!!!!!! I don't mean to sound like your mother, but do you realize how much water you are wasting each time you do a load of laundry!?
