Riddle me this

YES that is A LOT!!!!!!!!! I don't mean to sound like your mother, but do you realize how much water you are wasting each time you do a load of laundry!?

I think I do about 3 loads a week. I think it would be more if we didn't have to go all the way down into the basement of our apartment building to do the laundry. Since we don't have it in the apt, I think both DH and I conserve our clothes/towels a lot more. I usually wear the same pajamas for like 3 or 4 nights in a row...is that gross?

Nope I wear pjs at least twice. Sweat pants that I wear around the house twice too

I'm good again!!

We wash towels once a week unless they are filthy... I mean really, you're clean when you get out of the shower-- how dirty can they get after just 1 use??? Sometimes I'll do the hand towel more often just bc DH usually gets toothpaste all over it

Though I have to say, in my household, my father was the only one who would use his towel more than once, and the rest of us used once then discarded...but my mom does laundry every day. And in a perfect world, once we have a house, we'll both revert back to our fussiness and use once...but now with our current situation, this is the way it has to be!

Looking at the poll it's totally normal and you're saving yourself a lot of time. The reason this came up is because I was saying that I do 10 loads of laundry a week for only 2 of us. Isn't that a lot?

I can tell you EXACTLY how much water we use per load.... And I only know this bc we had to dump huge buckets of water into the sink for the 1st month we moved into our condo (our neighbor would get flooded otherwise)... Each bucket was 5 gallons and each load used 3 buckets... so 15 gallons of water for a top load washing machine !!!!!!!!!!! My neighbor was swimming in her kitchen

PJs I wear twice... never more... you sweat at night so its better to wash those clothes more often

agree! i have 2 towels in the bathroom at all times - 1 for the hair & 1 for the rest...and we change them 2 times a week...
i guess it wouldnt hurt to change them more often, i blame my own laziness

my thoughts exactly!

I am going to say about three times for me. I take alot of showers though...at least twice a day so sometimes I will use the same towel 4 or 5 times.. really just depends on how lazy I am at that moment.

DH used to use it once and then throw it in the wash but now i got him to at least use it twice

People are really 'passionate' about their towels in both over- and under-use, I find.

Same here for us in my house, DH is different though. He uses it once and thats it but, I told him unless he is gonna do the laundry at the laundry mat he will use his more then once

We only use towels on our body one time before washing. I will re use a towel for my hair twice. I am a towel snob, and with long hair hate the feeling of it wet on my back. I would go longer than that but am too paranoid about staph or ringworm.

eta: We have a washer/dryer in our condo so they go right in there when we are done. When we buy a house I am going to get the LG's my mom has them and they save so much energy & water.

You use it once, your going to have to buy towels so often that way!!! Towels take a beating in the wash.

I figure when I dry off from the shower I am clean as a whistle. So I wash my towels once a week. I use two, one for my hair and one for my body, so all my gross hair products are all on one towel. Since I start laundry on Thursdays thats when I wash them. Unless of course its summer and we are showering an unusual amount, salt water, chlorine, etc. Then I would change it more frequently, but I would just use a new towel and still wash them all together once a week.

DH is grosser, lol, since he is always in the garage with oil and gas and stuff. So his would be every 4 days at least, but he is only here about 4 days a week so it works out perfectly right now.

If I accidently leave my towel in a wet heap then I will take a new one.

I grew up with a cleaning lady who came once a week so she changed our towels and sheets once a week. It was always fine.
