Are you serious? Then she probably deserves it!
no one 'deserves' it. there's a slew of reasons why women stay in abusive relationships, and i'm sure that deserving it is not one of them.

Re: Rihanna
Also when somebody is abused physically or emotional, they really take away all their confidence and make them feel they are not good enough. I do think it's a stupid decision but i don't want to call her stupid bc she is probably just going through alot. You always see ppl ask 'how can they deal with that' and you see women on shows talk about it and your heart breaks for them. They aren't abused just physically but they take away their dignity and self respect. I think she is somebody who really needs help and to talk to somebody during this time. She is probably just as confused and doesn't know what to do.

I wouldnt be able to look at him the same. A lot of women also feel sorry for the men when they apologize and cry and say they will never do it again.

I wouldn't go THAT far -- I think to imply that any woman deserves to be beaten is VERY HARSH - and just wrong.
lol ok it was deleted

Re: Rihanna
Thank god I was never in any type of abusive relationship so it is unfair for me to pass judgment but I hope for her sake she realizes she does not deserve that sort of treatment.
Also, to say she deserves it is really below the belt.

Ok I get it....it was wrong what i said...basically what I meant was you know when people say 'they need a beating' like 'a wake-up call' thats what I meant...'maybe she deserves it' meaning another wake up call so she can learn her lesson and leave that a$$hole and move on...Trust me I do not support physical abuse!!!
I'm sorry if I offended anyone

Re: Rihanna
Wow this is disturbing, both the comments & the view people have on it. She is young & unfortunately in love with someone who is poisonous to her. It happens to many wonderful woman who by no means, deserve it in any way.
Blame should be squarely on him, not judging her, he should NEVER lay a hand on a woman.
She is naive .. yes, in love... unfortunately. She need a strong family & friends to help her through it. Unfortunately in relationships like that the guy ends up being her whole world, & the only one she trusts, so his elimination from her life (even though what he did was reprehensible) it probably feels (to her) that she needs him. She needs to find herself & her self worth, which can be hard for a young girl (or guy) to do.
Being a musician does not automatically make you a role model.. & being under the public eye is no easy feat. I do not envy her life right now. It is such an horrific thing for her to go through & have the world watching what she does.
He is dirt, many men get into arguments without raising a hand.
If anyone should be disappointed in someone, they should be in him. I just feel sorry for her.

I agree with everything you said but I can understand the comments from people who have no idea what its like. Its easy to say, 'HOW COULD SHE' Its frustrating. Its a terrible situation and I dont think anyone really said anything disturbing. Its understood she is young, naive, and in love. I feel sorry for her too. I just hope it doesnt happen again

Re: Rihanna
ok, let me say that I was harsh by saying I was disappointed in her, I do not know if any of you remember that I posted a yr. ago on Feb.7th a young girl 21. her name was Nicole and she was 4 mos pregnant died do to being in and abusive relationship, she also has a 3yr. old daughter. she was very close to me, she was my daughter Stacy's best friend. the morning she passed she was going for help. so this is a subject I should not pass judgment on. so I do apologize for my statement, Rihanna is the same age as Nik, and when were young and in love we find the good in that one person. I certainly have no respect for Brown, but I can pray that he does not hurt her again.

Re: Rihanna
No excuse to get a BEATING (this is what she got) not a hit or a smack or a little tab of the fist, she looked BEAT and for her to go back means she is on the road of being just like a Whitney.
I have been hit, smacked, etc and this is when I was 14/15 and probably deserved it because I was a bit of a wacko, but when I got older and had a bf who actually closed fist punched me - that day was a reckoning. I looked at him (swollen eye and all) spit on him then took the nearest weapon and kicked his 225lb butt and then walked out never to speak to him again. I don't even care if I did have kids, any man who beat me, punched me and abused me in any physical way I am gone. She is not even married she has no connection outside of emotional to this guy - she should of left and ended it. He will beat her again it is just only a matter of time.

Re: Rihanna
this makes me sad. I saw this written on a magazine cover while at the grocery store a couple days ago and DH refused to believe it. He was all like 'Nah, that's one of those stupid fake ones that make things like this up.' I had HOPED he was right, but maybe Rihanna really DID go back to him. What a shame. I honestly do not understand at all. I mean, I know that if ANY guy ever hit me just once (i'm not even talking BEATEN UP - i'm just saying one slap across the face) and that would be IT! I'd be sooo outta there. But I guess everyone is different. Like I said before, I just really don't understand It makes me sad for her.

She doesnt deserve it but she definitely has no right to cry about it if it happens again. She lost the sympathy card.
ITA with this soooooo much! The girl needs therapy there is obviously something wrong with her internally to go back.
Even though I should feel bad , somehow I just don't I dono why. I guess my sensitivity chip is missing tonight. I am not a fan of the victim card.
WE ALL ARE IN CHARGE OF OUR OWN TOURTURE.

I understand & I feel horrible for your friend that passed on. That is a horrible situation and understand how you can have strong feelings on the matter. I think I remember your past posts or came across it after the matter.

Re: Rihanna
I have seen too many wonderful people who have no idea how special they are be with horrible people. They are so much better on their own, but they've been taught all their life to find their self worth outside of themselves.
I know & respect that others have their opinion on the matter, but I have to say it is F'ed up to say someone deserves anything like that. I hope that no women is ever put in that situation but I certainly wouldn't say I have no sympathy for them & that they are playing the 'sympathy card'. She hasn't even spoken out in public, no one knows even what is the truth, but everyone has an opinion on it. She isn't asking for your sympathy.
Unfortunately some men (& in some cases women) are not raised right to know that violence against someone you supposedly love is never ever ok. If you manage not to beat up people that piss you off on the street, you should be able to control you anger with your loved ones & family .. (sh*T if I didn't I would be beating people up left & right, but somehow I manage to keep myself in check..lol)
But the point is, That I was trying to get across to those that said she deserved it.. is damn.. why as women we cannot be sensitive to a bad situation. It isn't the woman's fault right off the bat, & if she made a bad decision with choosing the wrong person she does not deserve to get her @ss beat. yes you gott be smart & not put yourself in certain situation, but if you are not smart enough do you deserve something like that. People say 'you deserved it' to rape victims too. where do you draw the line.
There may be woman on here that were in bad relationships, had loved ones (The the posted above) that passed away from these tragic caustic people and are reading this callus sh*t that people are saying.. Shoot not too long ago a young girl out here got shot by her ex dead in her home out by me. I didn't know her but I knew some of her family & I will never forget their pain.
This is a serious situation, & until people start giving some serious consequences to the men that perpetrate this there will never be an end to the cycle.
*** steps off her soapbox *** scratches her her & wonders where the hell did she find a soap box to step on anyway in this day & age***** lol

Re: Rihanna
I just wanted to say that the girl who said the thing that offended some of you, took it back and deleted it.
So therefore I am not going to into entertain this subject but nobody said 'playing the sympathy card' was part of the issue.
What was said and how it was supposed to read was she meaning 'Rihanna' lost the sympathy card as a result. I am sure you can understand that after what was exposed. I think that is where most of the posters where try to convey is all.
