RP from BHB: DIY Business

I'm thinking about starting a business for diy projects (menus, programs, invites, place cards, envelope addressing, cry packs, bathroom baskets, oot bags/baskets, favors, candy buffets/cookie buffets, memory candles, sand ceremony/candle ceremony, table numbers, petal cones etc....pretty much everything). Do you think this is something that people will want to use? Do you think this is something you would have found helpful while planning your wedding? Thanks so much girls!

I think what people might mean is the whole point of DIY is for people to add special personal touches to their weddding and if someone else does it for them, its not personal anymore. Some girls definelty might want to have someone help them but the items we DIY are usually things you can buy and not too expensively on certain sites like invites, STDs, unity candles, etc.

Not sure how much business you would get.

Honestly...these are little touches that brides do it themselvesss....so you would have to call it a diff name. BUTTTT its a start. I know that there are PLENTY of brides out there that are NOT that creative...as myself and would appreciate help. I would say go for it, give it a shot! Things that used to be ' unique' like the DIY, are actually starting to become popular. So people might just want to have them now, and then have someone else do it for them.

Maybe if you have a background in graphic design and can offer brides something they couldn't do themselves - professional-looking programs and menus that used a better paper and better printer with pictures and fonts not easily usable or available, then that's something.

But there are internet companies out there that do that and charge less than $1 per program because they work in bulk, so you'd need to be very cheap and I don't see where the money in that is for you.
