RP from Pets Dog people

You all know my current situation with my cat but i will copy and paste what I wrote on the Pets board. Isis is depressed (you can tell by her behavior) and I need to get a companion for her and fast (I dont even have time to cope with this) Personally I would rather have waited but I cant stand looking at Isis like this. She IS eating though and playing with us which is a good sign but my heart breaks when we go to work and shes home alone. Any suggestions on what type pf dog I should get (indoors mostly)

Hi Ladies,

I have a quick question for all you dog people.... All my life Ive had a cat- recently my two kittens died of FIP ( VERY devastated) and so the only way to get another cat for my Isis (an adult cat) is by the cat being corona virus positive. We just rescued a cat from the poconos- got her tested and she is negative which means no pa kitty for us. (mom is taking in cat number 6 now though so dont worry she has a great home!) We are thinking of getting a dog now for comapny to Isis.
Isis is a 3 year old cat who is VERY active. I am looking for a small dog (no chichuas) who I can mostly keep indoors. Is this possible? Please help! Thanks

I have 2 smaller dogs..one is a 27lb Cavalier King Charles that we bought...the other is a 14lb Terrier Mix that we got thru a rescue organization that i would highly recommend...they deal with all smaller dogs that are rescues in NYC....sometimes rescues require a little more work and attention but it's so rewarding to give a dog a new life from the crappy one it had!! Good luck!!!

Waggy Tail Rescue

ETA: they will usually tell you what other animals the dog can or cannot be with! Some rescues need to be the only animal in the house...but many others are great with existing pets.

I have a miniature pincher. He's very active and loves playing with my cousins dog when she brings her over.

A good friend of mine just recently got a silky terrier and he is the cutest thing ever. He is small, definitely a lap dog and the great thing about terriers is that they are really smart so they learn quickly. According to our vet, If you bring a terrier into a house with a cat when it is a puppy they can do really well, although if you get an older terrier that has not been around cats they will not do as well.

We have a yorkie-poodle mix (they call her a yorkiepoo I guess) and she is wonderful. Active, but also perfecly happy sitting on the couch all day... she is the best!

We have 8 years old Bichon name Bailey. He is 20 lbs and 18 inches tall. Bailey (bichons) has a great temperament, very friendly and loving. Bichon is also pretty easy to train and very smart. Since he is small enough to put in a bag, he travel with us all the time.
