sad

I just found out that my grandmother passed away during the night. . we weren't tremendously close but I of course feel sad anyway and especially for my father.

And then of course feel guilty bc I am going away on a business trip on Monday that I really can't get out of and the doctors thought she would pass early next week and I was so stressed about what to do - bc I wanted to be here for the funeral but thought my bosses would FLIP if I tried to find a replacement last minute as it's not something I could reschedule so I thought that it in some ways it would be so much better if she passed today so I could be there at the funeral to support my dad and of course grieve for my grandmother. .so now of course I feel guilty I know of course that it had nothing to do with me. . and it was def her time (she was barely aware of anyone/anything) but still just overall feeling bad. . .

thanks for letting me air out my thoughts girls!

I'm sorry for your loss, although from what you describe, it sounds like you had lost her in spirit a few years earlier. Sometimes that can be more difficult than losing our loved ones in body.

Everyone grieves and remembers in their own way, and not being there for the funeral is sometimes unavoidable. Just make sure that when you come back from your trip, you're there for your father if he needs a little extra emotional support while he's mourning.

thanks sandra - and you're right - she really hasn't been 'around' for a while so that has been sad. . . but to clarify - now I actually get to be there for the funeral bc it will be this weekend. .I think what I typed didn't make sense. . I just felt bad bc her dying sooner made it easier for me to go.

So sorry for your loss; at least you will be able to be there for the funeral and she is in a better place.

Prayers to you and your family!
