sad thank you question

so i've finally started doing my thank yous and i get a call from my mom saying one of my dads cousins passed away. today i come across the wedding card only to realize i havent written out the thank you yet. do i write it out to her and her husband and send it as if i did it before she passed or do i send it just to her husband and write how sorry i am for his loss?

write it to him and say how glad you are that they were able to be there.

i dont think you need to make it sappy.

Oh I was wondering the exact same thing. I think I will mention in the thank you card that I'm sorry for their loss. I don't want to make the TY card a sad one, but I feel wrong just not mentioning it at all- especially since it's family from CA so it's not like I was able to attend the funeral or anything.

I would definitely say how sorry you are and like becki said, say how happy you were that he was able to be there on your day!
