sad that DH has to work on XMAS

sad that DH has to work on XMAS

well he tried to get off work but they wouldnt let him... so he has to work xmas eve, and xmas

it just stinks because we just got married and it would be our 1st christmas together and 1st time in our house ... what a bummer..

anyone else's DH working?

Aww mine would ahve been but he voted to take a whole week off which ***** because with his job he cant really take days since it involves driving (he drives a car carrier). So we're out a week's pay this week but I prefer to have him home.. I'm sorry u cant be with your DH but Im sure he will be thinking of you.

my DH tried to get off, no word yet if he will be.

But on a side note, this is kinda how I look at it, maybe it will help you.

Besides the fact that their job is 24-7, so someone has to work, at least we don't have kids, i feel bad for the guys that have families and can't get off, and when we have a family I want one of the young guys to work so he can be home and see his kids open their presents, so my DH can put in his time now, and earn his time off later. It could be so much worse. He could be in Iraq and I might not even be able to talk to him on christmas. I'm just grateful that we can still celebrate either later that night or even the next day.

My DH is working Christmas Eve (and we're HOSTING DINNER THAT NIGHT!!! - so I'll be hosting by myself until he gets home late at night!). He's off on Christmas Day (my bday!) only because it falls on one of his regular days off. Otherwise, he'd be working then too like he has for the past 5 years we've been together. It's not SOOO bad, at least you'll have him in the morning and at night.

MINE! but he worksnightsso he will be homein the AM for DD to open gifts. Yes, christmas is aspecial holiday but do you know which one is even better? The day that you and DH choose to make your christmas together! Don't pidgeon hole yourslef into a day, take the opportunity and see people you couldn't see any other day and then find a day that is just for you and DH and call it Deanna and Dave's official christmas. Don't be sad, make the best of the situation!

Well said Ryan, do not let it ruin your Christmas just celebrate it at another time. There is no timelimit on when you can celebrate.

yea he works in the morning has to leave the house usually at 5am.. so maybe ill get up with him! then pray that he doesnt get stuck and i can see him later on for dinner!

Ryan , my DH used to work nights, just got off of them.. you do you like it?? i hated it... it was hard

My hubby's working as well but from 5am-1pm which means he will be home by 3... UNLESSSS he gets stuck to work til 9.. then booooooo

Mine will be working a 24-hour shift so I won't even get to see him for a little bit. I'm trying to think of a way to make Christmas special for us anyway b/c it is my favorite holiday.

mines working both days too
He leaves at 10 at night & gets home around 8am
e's going to try to stay awake as much as he can during the day to be with the family.

DH is working Christmas eve. It stinks becuase I have a 4 day weekend and he doesn't. I'm just going to bake when he works. You'll have a great Christmas anyway. Don't let it get you down. It's your FIRST married Christmas!!
