Same situation, new vent

I don't know how many 09ers are still on here. I just haven't signed up to LIF yet but lurk there all the time.

To make a long story short:

BM and GM who are married have not had the time for DH and I in a very long time. The last time we were all together was New Year's Day 2010. DH still has not met their baby born in June. We try to get together with them but they never can. I'd be ok with that but they post on FB all the time when they see their other friends. Anyway...

For their first born we were still somewhat close (although that's when our friendship started drifting) and we got the baby a '1st Christmas' ornament. Well, we did the same for their child this past Christmas however since they can never see us, we mailed it, along with their card. They never said thank you or even acknowledged our thoughtfulness!

That is the final straw.

Little do they know, something very exciting and big is going on with DH and I right now. I get the same advice all the time to let them go and let them come to us.

That's good advice friendship is not a one way street ... they need to put in effort too!

anyway, good luck with them, and with whatever 'big news' is going on in your lives

ITA!!!! Sounds like you are putting more into the relationship then you are getting from it.
