Saw the post on sending thank yous...

But what about for people that attended the wedding but did not give a gift? Do I send them a thank you for coming? I'm not sure what to do b/c we had a lot of people not give a gift at all that came to the wedding. I've heard that they have a year to give a gift, so maybe I'll just wait until after they send one (if they do). What is everyone else doing?

I've only sent thank you's to those whom I've received a gift. We've got a handful of people who did not send a gift yet. I'm waiting to see if a gift comes from them.

I only had a couple of people not give a gift on the day of our wedding. I decided not to give a thank you and send one when and if we received something. After ten months we just received the gifts so I sent a thank you now.

JennRenee...what did you write in the Thank You for the people you did not get a gift from? After 'thank you for coming' I'm stumped!

We went to a wedding and figured we would buy them a gift after they returned from their HM. However, they delayed their HM by a month but sent out thank you's before they left. This is what they wrote:

'Thank you for being at our wedding. We were so moved and thrilled to have so many people there who we love and feel love from. It surpassed our every hope!'

I wrote something similiar to Julybaby's friend.

I just thanked the person for coming and sharing in the joy of our wedding day.

I sent a TY to each guest who attended our wedding, whether they gave us a gift or not. You are thanking them for attending, not the gift.

I only want to send TYs to those who sent me a gift. I think the favor says TY for coming, IMO.
But I might have to cave in as my DH wants to send one to everyone.
We'll see. I do all the work anyway

I agree with LizLen, I am not sending a TY to people who did not give us a gift. I fed them, they were entertained for the evening and heard a great band, drank their *sses off and I gave them a favor. That's enough giving from me.

Ok, well I just ordered my thank you's from my photographer and in our contract it says 100 TY's, and it's $3 for each one after that. Since we won't have enough most likely, I'll probably only send to those who gave gifts. I won't be ordering any extra thank you's, I'll tell you that!
