Scrapbook Store in Nassau Cty

My friend just told me about this yarn/needlepoint store that has added a scrapbook section.

Little Shop of Stitches
3437 Merrick Road
Wantagh, NY
516-783-3303

They have a weekly crop on Wednesdays 7-11 ($10) and a monthly all day crop one Saturday a month. If you call up they will put you on their mailing list and send you a calendar of events and coupons.

I do have a bit of news that I heard online...Michaels announced that they are opening Scrapbook only stores. They will have croppin g rooms as well as instruction classes. The first stores will be opening in Texas but Im sure that they will be coming to other areas soon!! Maybe this is the time to contact them ChristineC68 about a store in Queens!!!

Lisa - I went to the NYSE site but I didnt see anywhere on the home page where you can sign up. I just saw links to stores and other online scrapping resources.

And you're right. I should give my 2cents to Michaels about a scrapping store in queens. That would be nice:D

Target has great stuff, its very picked through in Westbury, but i got big letters (stickers) for 1.99 and they werre 4.99 at target.. and i got a top loading scrap book 12X12 with a beautfiul pressed flower design for 14.99 and the leather ones were10.99 and the SAME ones were 14.99 at micheals.. the refills are cheap too for top loading, those are 3.49 and they were 5.00 at micheals.. i got the adhesive that looks like the white out correction tape for only 3.49..

can you tell im excited!!

Christine & Suzanne....did you see the links above for the NYSEScrappers group???

Suzanne...the albums at Target...are they TRUE 12x12 pages? What that means is can you put in a 12x12 sheet of paper without having to cut a bit off of the ends? I need a new album and I am looking for a TRUE 12x12! Thanks!

Re: Scrapbook Store in Nassau Cty

Lisa - I am in a pending membership mode with NYSE right now. Have you met with anyone from there for crops or anything?

Suzanne - Target has some great deals!!! I have the same questions as Lisa about the albums.

I have a CM album that I hate because I have to cut the ends of my layouts to make them fit. BUT I didn't know this when I did my first 10 layouts so I worked edge to edge and now they dont fit in the album

Re: Scrapbook Store in Nassau Cty

I just went to paper access in the city- got some great paper and some of those making memories buttons and eyelets-

but does ANYONE know how to apply the snaps?
ChristineC68 Posted:

Re: Scrapbook Store in Nassau Cty

Lisa - that's awsome!!

Sassy - I'm not sure. I sort of thought they went on the same as eyelets.

Re: Scrapbook Store in Nassau Cty

the snaps are actually 2 pieces. You punch a hole...just as you would do if you were using an eyelet, then y ou put the 'finished' piece through the front of the page and the 'attacher' piece through the back and click together! They look really nice on pages!
