Serious question, does anyone suffer from Hyprchondria?

I am a regular poster but I feel better posting under a false name. Both my husband and I are hypochondriacs. We always think there is some medical condition wrong with us but are so afraid of Dr's. This weekend we both have to undergo a full physical including blood work for insurance purposes, we are literally freaking out thinking they are going to find something. I was in the hospital 2 years ago overnight and they took so much blood from me, if I had something they would have found it then no? I am just so besides my self at this point, I've been crying for days. The thought of hearing I have some incurable disease and then not being able to spend the rest of my life with my hubby just makes me so emotional. Am I just being silly?

omg- This is me to a t.

Its very hard to deal with- I am a complete hypochondriac t this present moment I am worried that a may have a brain tumor- even though I dont - I have an ear infection. but I still cant help but wonder if the the dr's over looked something, I am constantly self diagnosing my self on the internet and I spend many of my days worry about whether or not I will be living or coming down with an incurable disease. My Dh is a little tired of hearing me complain and worry about all my ailments. I cant even tell you how many times I frequent the dr's.

But there are many of 'us' out there. Diseases are a huge fear of many and are very non predictable. Now matter how good you take care of yourself, things could happen.

please fm me- we can support each other

Oh pleeeeease, I can totally relate! I used to be so paranoid about my health! I once worked in a hospital many, many years ago, and I used to deal with blood and patients and let me tell you, if I got a cold or felt pain or anything I swore I was dying of some incurable disease.

HOwever, over the years I don't as much b/c I go to the Dr. regularly and I feel that I'm in pretty good health - God willing!

Once you start going to the Dr. regularly and you keep getting a clean bill of health, then you'll be fine. Also, if you know your body well enough, you'll KNOW if something is terribly wrong - trust me! Regular Meditation helps you to connect to your body!
