Seriously, this has to stop . .

Seriously, this has to stop . .

Another crane accident in NYC. This time near or on 91st Street. I don't want to jump to conclusions as to the cause, but it seems like the construction accidents in this city are out of hand and too many people ( workers and civilians alike ) are being killed !! *** if going on !!

To top it off, DH does this for a living and I can't remember where he said he was working today. Of course, he leaves his phone in the car because he's always afraid he's going to drop it....UGH !!!

i know, fh is a carpenter and he's had so many scary incidents. Fires, gas leaks, etc. I get so nervous sometimes.

OMG Tara, I know, I hope Kevin's OK!!!!

But look how sad, an 08'ers FH's company is involved, they're getting married next weekend!!! FH is ok but one of his guys may have been the fatality; this is just AWWWWFUL, NYC needs to put the brakes on the building boom ASAP!!!

yeah, I was just going to post about Crystan and her FH, he's at the site now and already lost one of his co-workers. Can you imagine what he must be going through over there? It's terrible.

Your DH works for a crane company too?

Re: Seriously, this has to stop . .

Thanks for the kind thoughts everyone and I am glad to hear that 08er Crystan's FH is okay!!! I have not heard from my DH yet but I think he might be at a job on 86th street - or that's the last job that I can remember him telling me he was at. Hopefully, he's at 86th street again today.

Anyway, I was just looking online and saw this picture - I was actually looking for my DH in it but,

OMG! Look at this devastation! Imagine being a worker at this site or just walking by on this beautiful morning and ---

Wow Tara how scary. Poor Crystan, her FH is SO upset, understandably...

Here's a smaller image, maybe it'll work:

OMG!!

My DH just called and while he is okay (he was at 86th street instead of 91st) our very good friend James is on that job where the accident occurred and he has not been able to find him.

Kevin said that it's a mess over there!

Please everyone !! pray for everyone there and my friend James!!

praying everyone's ok.........my hubby is an electrician and on top of me worrying that he could get electrocuted, I'm always worried that when he's working on a 'deck job' that an accident can happen due to one of the other trades on the jobsite.

so sorry about that 08er's husband- I can only imagine what he's going through losing a co-worker a week before their wedding!

this does have to stop. my dad has a plumbing business (i work for him) and most of his jobs are in the city.so my mom calls me this morning and shes like do you guys have any jobs on 91st street. im like yea why? shes like theres been another crane accident. we have a job on the west side, but its sooo scary to think that these things are going on. my DH is also a carpenter and these accidents just worry me so much.
the dept of buildings really needs to send out their inspectors more often and do a more thorough job of inspecting and approving these job sites!

for anyone involved
