Share your hair horror stories and show your love-those tales you'd like to froget were ever based in fact.
Two weeks ago I got my hair cut by the guy who did it ebfore and I LOVED that first haircut. Second one...Um NO. he cut it waaaaay too short in the back and then SHAVED DOWN the nape halfway up my head...awfyl. Its supposed to angle up. I considered it a fluke and went back yesterday for him to fix it. Long story short, i think we have diff ideas of what 'take it up shorter' means. I mean bring the nape up so it looks angled. He thought it meant.SHAVE IT UP HALFWAY ON MY HEAD!!! And I TOLD Him don't shave it close in the back. I showed him pics of the haircut HE gave me and still...
I ended up with one of those supppper close cuts halfway head!!!! And then he didnt thin it out or anythign because it was too short so when i turn sideways I look like some sort of Alien creatue with the back head bump..it was horrific but unfortunately though i wasnt charged, nothing that could really be done to fix it.
So at home I ended up takign it up as I wanted romt he beginning but because he shaved it down so much, I needed to go up a solid 2 inches with DH''s clipeprs to make it look more even. Now until the rest of my hair gets long enough, I will have to shave it every other day to keep away the stubble and have to elarn to embrace the razor bumps...
Insult to injury, I still have Alien bump head....Not as bad and the front looks good but the back....
Not good.
We have the pictures this weekend ( rained us out 2 weeks ago) and now I have to keep on the veil I didnt want to keep on for all the pics to hide the alien head.
I know it could be worse. I know there are for worse tragedies going on in the world recenty espeically with hurricaines and volcanoe eruptions and this is a minor thing. But Im still peeved...so I need some laughter-share the hair hell with me girls pleeeeease.

Re: Share your...hair horror stories with me
your bad haircut story doesn't hold light to my hair travesty incident that occured in '04.
my mom was taking hair cutting classes at the local community college and she would always practice on manequins at home. she *perfected* 'the rachel' haircut and i volunteered to be her first client, as long as she made my hair look as fabulous as the manequin.
well, little did she realize that the human head has bumps and curves and is not perfectly round, as a manequin head is.
you can guess where this is going.
she kept cutting. and cutting. and cutting. she finally gave up with umm i'd say about an inch and a half left of hair.
i was mortified and was secluded in my house for a year. it was the most terrible thing that ever happened! i totally feel you darling, but look at it this way - at least you're not rockin the 'do i did!

Re: Share your...hair horror stories with me
i had my hair similar to ur wedding pictures... really cute.. short.. kinda meg ryan-ish...
cute for about a WEEK! i was a poor college student and had NO way to $$ for a haircut every week....
in a month i looked liek a mushroom... my hair is really thick and once the top spiky parts got to long they flopped down...
so i got bored and said screw it let my dye my hair... i looked like rainbow bright...
eventually dyed it black, it was all razored from the short do,,, and so many dead frizzy ends + thick curly mushroom puff...
i wore ALOT of hoodies and baseball caps for 3 years!!!
yes i said 3 years!!!!
since my hair was SOOO razored it was really ruined.. my home hairstylist was so mad at me and she had to trim off the ends every month (thankfully at a reduced to nothing cost) to attempt to straighten all the frazzled ends.
i will NEVER razor my hair again. *lesson learned*

Re: Share your...hair horror stories with me
when i was younger i wanted to know what my hair would look like with bangs
my super duper cool older cousin decided that we would try it out SO she rolled my hair up in a comb! i asked how she would get it out and she said no problem, the hair will roll out the same way it rolled in.
yeah, didnt happen. we went through a bottl of conditioner trying to get the comb out of my hair and finally my uncle ended up having to cut SUPER short bangs anyway (he is a barber)
i was so upset but didnt want to let me super cool cousin see it so i tried to play it cool but my bangs looked SO dumb bc i had curly hair and its not like a young kid is going to blow out her bangs every day
my cousin was my MOH and we still joke about that horrid day in her basement
Then when I was in Junior High School i decided I want a super short stylish look. Nevermind that I couldn't straighten my hair - I picked a straight look. It looked AWESOME when she did it. Then, the next morning I washed my hair BEFORE SCHOOL and attempted to blow it out with no product and SOAKING wet. It was a HUGE mess and super frizzy and i couldnt even put it in a pony tail! the only way i could wear my hair for MONTHS was with a headband AND two to three ponytails to keep it from going straight in the air!!
I honestly didnt learn how to straighten my hair until the END of college!
ETA: DEB this was in 7th grade if you remember!!!

Oh where do I start!!!???
I'll begin with 3rd grade. I got a short hair cut. inda boyish but whatever. My sister got an 80's style perm and I wanted the same. So i asked for a perm thinking my hair would look like hers- she had long hair. Ummmm I Had a frekin fro!!! And everyone asked me if I stuck my finger in an electrical socket.
Then ther was middle school when i got my hair cut like Rachelfrom friends. Thinking back now it was prolly a cute cut, but i hated it at the time. i thought it looked funny- but tht was prolly cus I was in middle school and just looked awkward in general.
Fast forward to college. I got a haircut at some salon on LI with my roommate. At first it was good but then after two weeks we were both like ummm how come we can get our hair to look good? I went home to my regular person and she said they did a really bad cut and didn't give it any angles or definition. They just cut the layers straight across. So she fixed it.
Another time i went in the city and got a cut at a nice looking salon and she made my bangs look aweful! they stuck stright up for like 2 weeks adn I had to always pin them down. i cried and called my stylist in Maine but it was Monday and tehy were closed. It was aweful!
This past fall I went to warren tricomi for class night. And they were out of students so a regular stylist did my color. She wouldn't do 2 colors like I requested saying she is a colorist and I dont need it. And then she didn't glaze my color so you could still see the line of where my roots had been. I was so mad and couldn't go back cus it was a class night not a regular appointment. LOL if I had had a student it prolly would have been better! Im just glad I didn't blow $300 on my color with her!!!
I have a history of hair horror stories!!!!

Tilde I love you lol. I did the bangs in 3rd grade and cut it to my shoulders (from below my @ss previously) and same thing; curly hair so the bangs always looked WILD and frizzy like WHOA!
I didnt learn to use products until I was 21-no joke.

i did learn cute ways to put in clips, and to use a big round brush and blow it out... never use an iron when its soo short... lesson learned also with that...
but there are cute things to try when its growing out... unfort. they only last for about a week at a time.
good luck... and im sure ur pictues will be beautiful no matter what...
im glad my story made u feel better!

HAH Gina you have more horror stories than me. I didnt think it possible but I have one on par with yours-Decdied I wanted to turn my jet balck Puerto rican hair soft brown-like pale sunlightened brow... Yes we see where this is going don't we.
So at 4am I decide to BLEACH my hair THEN DYES it because it turned 3 shades like the Earth's inner core; brass blonde at the roots, strawberryblonde midway and then deep auburn at the ends. I dyed it and it stayed triple toned, just deepened the colors a little and they were 'blended.'
My mom when she woke up at 6 am and puttered down the hall, dropped her towels and just froze as i said in my juvenile glory 'Mami DONT scream.'
My dad's notable response whrn I said 'don't say a word was, was 'I have no words.'
LOL it was sooo bad that I sued to tak a red lip liner, I kid you not and COLOR IN my roots so that they looked more liek the mid and bottom colors....
Stayed liek that for 2 weeks before they redyed my hair at my mom's salon.

ughhh. not cool so close to your pictures this weekend. BUT, I'm sure it can't be as bad as you think. You've said you had bad haircuts before and then you post pics, and we all think you look great.

Oh no! LOL! didn't even list all my horror stories. But they explain why I am so anal about my hair and who touches it! LOL! I seriously have slight panic attacks when trying a new salon.
Sorta different, but the first time I tried self tanner (in like 8th grade) I thought it was supposed to show up right away and didn't. So i kept reapplying it. LOL. Then I had religion class at night. So i went and Im sitting there and thenin th middle of class all my friends are loking at me and are like 'ummm how come you just turned bright orange?' It took like 2-3 weeks to fully fade!!!

For some reason this was cool in like 8th, 9th grade. EVERYONE used sun in- even the boys. Weird! We were all walking around with orange hair! And I was actually upset mine didn't look like everyone elses cus I was blonde! But as per my above post, I at least had orange skin!
