Short trip suggestions

i might have asked this before
so I'm trying to surpise DH with a short trip, or more or less jut an overnight stay someplace local. Hamptons, suffolk, nassau, upstate but not more then a 3 hour away, no city Dh is sick of the city, hopefully over V-day weekend, but it doesn't have to be... he really needs just a day or 2 away from life right now, and i can say I do too.

Any suggestions? nothing over the top, maybe something romantic... quite.... anything?? thanks girls!

Def the poconos- they even opened a casino there now-
if you are really looking for an advernture stay at the wolf lodge- its crazy!! indoor water park! but the hotel looks amazing!! (never stayed but went inside to look)

I was going to say the same thing. DH has been there and says it is very pretty. The Amish Country is also nice.

any hotels you can reccomend?

I asked DH & when he went with his mom, they actually stayed in south Jersey & drove to New Hope. I left a message for his mom to see where she stayed when she went last summer.

Our Best Man recommended the town and the neighboring town just over the bridge in Jersey (Lambertville) as a place for DH and I to meet 6 years ago when I was still in NY and he was still in MD so as a wedding gift he got us a stay in their biggest suite for the day after the wedding.

Pineapple Hill is about 5 miles outside of the area with all the restaurants, but the owners are so sweet. There are a few PA wineries in the area, a quaint shopping area just outside of New Hope called Peddlers Village, and it's about 30 minutes south of Princeton, which can also be a nice area to relax in.
