I booked the trip Valentines weekend to Rhode Island and we can't wait...
However- getting to this holiday is going to take alot as he is down in the dumps...
I wanted to maybe surprise him every day with a little something when he wakes up... but what?
He can't have chocolates, dairy, or alot of sugar (DARN VALENTINES DAY) and he doesn't like candy.... except 'natural liccorice' candy (GROSE)
Its only 10 days so 9 things?
Anyone have any ideas?

I seem to recall that you are crafty. Could you make him an origami heart with pretty paper? A coupon for total control of the remote for an hour? A lucky bamboo plant?

I made a booklet once for DH that had tickets for things like a massage, a kiss, a special meal that he wanted, a weekend to do whatever he wanted..etc.
You can get personalized boxers...or even make them yourself.
Get him his favorite movie then have a date night in
Write him a letter expressing how much you love him

You could surprise him with things for the trip.. maybe like make a 'coupon book' that he can cash in on the trip... Include like back massage and maybe some other dirty things (guys like that).
Make a CD of music you know he likes for the car ride...

He hates all those 'booklet' things (I like them :( lol)
He hates TV (Yes- sports included!)

Can you get him a little stuffed animal that relates in some way to an inside joke or a memory or something?
One year a boyfriend I had (I KNOW this sounds horrible but it really wasn't) got a stuffed whale and put it on a platter of sand because it was a joke we had that I whined 'like a beached whale' and I thought it was hilarious and thoughtful and sweet.

I would love a good mixed cd for the car since my ipod attachemnt never works
I always forget my gum and water so it would be nice if dh put those things in my car the night before
maybe fill up his car with gas
framed picture for work
print out a cute short funny joke and tape to mirror in bathroom
organzie a draw , or do a annoying chore for him that he keeps putting off ie oil change, organzine bills, clean fridge etc

A simple idea could be a fun stuffed animal. Hallmark usually has ones that make noise. Or one of those record your voice cards.
My mom once got my dad socks because he needed them and made a bouquet of flowers out of them.
She also did a chocolate box of golf balls.
I had a bf who didn't like chocolates but loved shrimp so I took a heart shaped tray and wrapped up shrimp on it.

He loves little sentiments like that- he writes me a note every friday morning andleaves it ontop of the towels!

Tickets to his fav sporting event or concert? Make him his favorite dinner & watch his fav movie. How about giving him kisses for the amount of days left until Vday??? So ten days ten kisses (not the candy) lol

How about something simple like say...SHOWER gel? For you dirty birdies in the shower all the time
Ok seriously....does he like fruit? have any favorites? you can make a nice cut fresh fruit platter & feed him like a roman emperor.
or draw him a nice bubble bath & buy some senual oils & give him an erotic massage!
- I actually found (I think in home goods or marshalls last year) what looked like beautiful dried mini roses - but you put them in the bath water (they float on the top of the water) & evetually they dissolve - they are like bath soap or something - it looks very pretty to start & once they dissolve they help give your skin some nice moisture!
