I IMed my mom almost every day since our hotel had internet access..... and called twice from those cheap international calling stations. No way I could have gone that long without talkingto them.

I called my parents once each of the four weeks to check on our dog, and he called his parents the second week and the third week for Thanksgiving.

We called both sets of parents to let them know we had arrived safely. I spoke to my parents later on in the trip because my father was having major surgery while I was away.

I talked to my Mom almost every day and his parents every other day.

1) My mom had just shattered her shoulder at the wedding. I felt horrible leaving her and the need to make sure my sister was taking care of her

2) We went during the Yankee/Sox series and DH needed to share his excitement each night with his Red Sox family, since I wasn't speaking to him each time they won a game

We called to check on my puppy. But when I got back I checked the voice mail on my cell phone and it was mom 'I know I am not supposed to be calling you on your honeymoon but it's been a few days and I really miss you!'

I called my mom only because it was Mothers Day - and DH did the same. It was costly and cumbersome. My cousin told me my dad was stomping around the house all sad and mad because I didnt call him though!

We just called DH's parents from the airport in Puerta Rico to tell that after my parents picked us up, we were coming over to get the car.

I spent more money on calling my mom than on drinking I think. It was $7 a minute to call from most places in Africa. Internet was $7 for 20-minute time (dial up) sooo I sepnt a ton on calls. I called my mom at least every 3-days ... I'm such a momma's girl!

ditto for me..except after calling them the first time we had them call us because our hotel charged like $8/min!

Guess we are in the minority here, we didn't call at all! Had no access to internet or anything. THey didn't expect us to call so it was all good. My parents picked us up from the airport and we called DH's parents the next day!

We didn't do a HM but I would've called when we landed if we had taken a flight

I called my sister when we got to Aruba then she called my parents and then my parents and DH's parents when we got on the boat. We had so many flights we didn't want them to worry.

Same here! But with the time change, we only called about 3 times in the 2 weeks.
