Skipping period w BC HELP!!

Hey ladies...does anyone know how to skip a period using BC? We are going to Jamaica on June 9th and I am due for my 'friend' later this week, I feel it about to start soon. I just picked up a prescrip for Orth Tri Cyclen Lo. Do I start the pill the day of my period or try and calculate? I'm so confused...Can anyone help me? TIA

or whatever the last color is...dont remember how mnay there were...
but the last color just skip those and start a new pack

Ask for a prescription for seasonale or seasonique. You will only get your period every three months. I loved being on it!

I'd still be on it if we weren't about to start TTC.

no you jsut start it when your sugar pills in your last pack begin

Yup, instead of taking the sugar pills, start a new pack.

My doc had me take 2 weeks of bcp's...take a week off (which forced a period), and then start a new pack on the sunday.
I will warn you, my period was really heavy on that 2nd cycle..

Worked like a charm though.

Sooo...let's say I get my period this week like Thurs or Fri...should I start the pill on Sun instead of starting on the 1st day it starts and skipping the sugar pills right into the next cycle?? Am I making sense!? I'm so nervous about extra bloat and crazy mood swings. I have to wear a bathing suit!!

do you usually get your period on the first sugar pill?? mine would usually come 2 days into the suger pills so when i got to them i would not take them and start a new pack

take your pill regular, but when you get to the green pills...the placebo pills/sugar pills start the new pack!
i know its confusing but once you get the hang of it you will wanna do it all the time! LOL

Unfortunately, you can't skip with Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo. You can only skip it using a monophasic pill and this is triphasic - basically with a triphasic, the hormone level in the pill changes each week. You need a monophasic pill, where the hormone levels are the same each of the 3 active weeks, to skip your period. Call your dr and try to get a different Rx. Just so you know, though, it doesn't work for every girl. You might still bleed a little (or a lot) b/c your body is used to the 1 inactive week after 3 active weeks.

ETA: You should also discuss this with your dr to ensure you're totally be protected. You don't want any surprise vacation babies!
