I don't think you are wrong.... your MIL should decide to be uncomfortable with your family or FIL's.

I have always felt that Christmas is more for Children anyway. You are going to ruin your 6 year old's Christmas so that your MIL can be comfortable???

your 100% right. if you weren't seeing her on the eve then i would say he has a point but you are. besides whats her problem that she can't come to your house!!

It sounds to me that your MIL's being uncomfortable stems more from your FIL's going away than from anything else. In which case, your husband is not going to rectify the situation, it's between your MIL and FIL.

I've tried explaining that to him - I didn't realize what a momma's boy he is -- (not that theres anything wrong with that.) I just didn't realize how much guilt she could lay on him!
