My principal announced at our PTA meeting last night 'yeah, there won't be school wednesday' lol

So excited for a day off from life...no work, no gym, no annoying people!!! Yay!

umm thats awesome!!! DH works in a school so most likely he is going to have off, i really dont feel like driving to garden city from massapequa in my little civic in the snow, so most likely even if my office is not closed i will take the day...they have a rule that if half the office doesnt show up we wont get charged for the day...and my office is mostly old people who dnont like driving in the rain, let alone the snow!! so i should be good!!

I'm loving that rule...Too bad everyone else in my office would risk life & limb.... I'll be the only one out tommorrow..

of course wednesday is day 1 of our afterschool program!!!

but my rule is if 10 of more LI schools are closed...I give myself a snow day!!! NYC never closes!!!!

So according to weather.com its looking pretty bad ladies! Snow from tonight through tomorrow night...could that mean 2 snow days?! AHH!

yeah my hubby works at woodmere academy and they said most likely 2 days!! and its a private school so they dont close that ofen cuz parents are paying boat loads to send there kids to that school!

I'm thinking I'm giving myself 2 snow days since the LIRR doesn't run over 10 inches of snow....yeah for snow days

My boss left at 10 this morning and explicitly told me 'See you tomorrow morning'. I think that was a threat? Whatever, he lives up the road from me, so if it's that important for me to be in, he can come get me.

Yes, I live mere blocks away from both my ILs and my boss!

I'm bringing work home with me tonight in case I decide not to come in tomorrow (which is pretty much a given ) AND Thursday because I just heard that the snow isn't supposed to stop until Thursday morning. I'm not driving in from East Islip to Garden City. It's not that I'm afraid to drive in the snow, but DH is off this week so I'd like to be snowed in with him.

ETA: Oh yeah - I could also start my thank you cards which just arrived yesterday.

That's so funny, I'm from Massapequa and I work in Garden City as well---we have the same policy. We have to take our day, but we don't get 'charged' as an unscheduled day off.

Do you work for a bank?

I work for a lawfirm! i like to joke and say its not a real lawfirm cuz its for allstate insurance lol our office is just weird! lol
