My big thing is, after our wedding, 4 of my friends got married (last one is tomorrow!!!), and I couldnt help but be a pain in the buttocks and give them any and all advice. I really love the whole planning process. I find though, that I'm drawn towards the flowers aspect of wedding planning, thinking of getting a part time job at a wedding florist!!!

me too I love the flower part! I love planning weddings, but I find myself tired of thinking about it now. After the weddng I couldnt' let go, but now.... I'm ready to start thinking about decorating, getting a new job and babies. My dream job would be a wedding planner, I think planning other peoples weddings is more fun than mine!

I would do the day itself over but there is no way I would go back to being engaged and planning the wedding!I was just one of those people who didnt enjoy it, it wasnt stress or anything, it was just annoying to me!

I would love to become a professional wedding planner!! I always loved planning parties, even before my wedding. I put a lot of effort into every detail of any party I have ever thrown. I just don't know how to actually go about getting into the business!!

These are my thoughts. I'm thrilled to be married but don't like all the 'bride' stuff that needs to be done. I still haven't done my album or video yet.

I thought about it. I was in the wedding industry before I got married, that's how I found LIWeddings.
I would definately do it for myself, though...I dunno if I could work for someone else again.

I am the unofficial Bridal coordinator at my job. There are 7 girls at my job who are getting married within the year. You are in the wrong business, you should be a wedding planner. It's always in the back of my mind.

Re: So, after all of this, who's thinking about going into the wedding business?
Me, me!!!! I sadly miss it soo very much. My DH suggested that I go into the wedding business to do something that I enjoy doing that I have a true passion and be happy with. Like become a wedding planner or write a book on wedding venues/reception halls in the metro NYC area critiquing everything on price, location, food quality, space, etc. Sometimes I feel stuck in a 9-5 job and lost the passion. Maybe I'll go into the wedding business one day....

I'm very soon getting a computer so that I can do some graphic design work on the side--I want to do mostly arts marketing (brochures, post cards and stuff) but also wedding invites, albums, etc. Also thinking about putting an ad on Craig's List saying I'll shoot your wedding for free, just pay for the film & developing in order to build a portfolio. There's a whole untapped supply of bridezilla's over here in London! :)

Re: So, after all of this, who's thinking about going into the wedding business?
i liked the planning - but i would never want to do it again. I mean, it was fun while knowing you would only do it once. I liked seeing all the special 'bride' stuff, and am thrilled when any of my friends ever ask me for advice.I would love to go into the wedding business simply for the higher markup you can charge us crazy ladies!
I told hubby never to worry, cause if he dies and i ever remarry, i'm just goin to the bahamas baby to elope cause that's way more fun.
luckily he gets my sense of humor
he says now he knows how to plan a good vacation if we decide to renew our vows when we're old and grey (awwww).

Re: So, after all of this, who's thinking about going into the wedding business?
I wouldn't want to be a coordinator but maybe more of a 'Bridal Go-fer'.Bringing breakfast or brunch to bride's house or hotel room that morning.
Bringing rose petals, bubbles...to church or ceremony site and handing them out to guests.
Bringing programs to church or ceremony site and handing them out to guests.
Making sure things are set up at reception site the way the bride wants.
Bringing bags to hotel for after the reception.
Taking home personal weddings items after the reception for the bride.
Stuff like that.
No dealing with vendors or working with contracts.
