I never cooked really before we got married. I'd make simple stuff like pasta and some mexican foods. But I'd say that so far I havent cooked one bad meal. He agrees but who knows? He might be too scared to say otherwise lol
So do your hubbys keep it real?

Re: So, is he honest about your cooking?
My DH is the exact same way! Before being married I lived with my parents....didnt pick up a pot for anything! I didnt even know how to make an egg when I got married. Once I go tmarried I started getting tips from my mom and looking online for recipes...so I started making dishes...DH LOVES EVERYTHING I MAKE! Im like what the heck...how could you like everything I make...I am new at this.. I think hes telling me the truth..but who knows

He totally does. He tells me when he doesnt like something or if he thought something was over seasoned. He's so picky so he cant really be quiet about whether he likes something or not.

Actually I'm the one who usually critiques my cooking! He always says it's good (and I know it's never BAD) but sometimes I'll be like ehhh this is just okay. And he just rolls his eyes at me and says I always find something wrong with it! I guess I sometimes get a little intimidated cooking for him b/c he was used to fabulous Italian cooking his entire life! His mom is an awesome cook. I'm trying!!
omg i know! i think everyone has to compete with their mil's cooking
I made his mom's signature dish - bowties with peas and ham - and I felt SICK waiting for him to try it but he really liked it! It didn't come out like hers, I think she makes a healthier version because mine came out VERY creamy and hers isnt like that but he loved it anyway and now i feel confident enough to make anything!

Yea he's honest about my cooking. I'm WAY harder on myself then he is and in fact he will request my food.
Same here

Re: So, is he honest about your cooking?
For the most part yes. I cook pretty well. Our isue usually is that he feels something doesnt have enough salt or spice and it generally doesnt because I have some dietary issues so I cant have certain things. I omit them and then let DH add whatever he wnats to his own portion. works for us.

Re: So, is he honest about your cooking?
unfortunitly, yes. LOL. He hates veggies. i love veggies. So Ill go through making them and beg him to eat them cus they are fresh and labor intensive, and he is always like 'babe, I really don't like them. Im sorry.' LOL. But as for the other things I make, he usually tells me if it worked or not.

DH is very honest -- he tells me to stay out of the kitchen! But he's the best cook!

Yes, he tells everyone that I don't cook-when people ask how my cooking is he says 'I don't recall, its been so long!'.
He does the cooking. I hate cooking.
