So its the end of the year now and I still haven't changed my name
or my marital status at my job. I did the whole SS and driver's license change buy my job still has me w/my maiden name and single status. Is this going to be a problem when I file for my taxes?

It shouldnt be because its all based on your SS #. Your single status MAY help you get more money back because you are taxed at a higher rate claiming S-1 than someone claiming M-1

Our accountant advised me to hold off on changing my name until the new year. We may get more money back filing as single.

It has to be. What about all the women who NEVER change their name?

Well, its legal to file without changing your name, but I thought you had to file as married, or at least 'married but filling separetely'--that is an option on the top of the forms.
