so we just got back saturday from our hm and Im so sad everything is over. no planning no more fittings. Im really sad about it. How do i get over it.

I was happy for the planning to be over! It started to get to be too much towards the end! We got back from our HM & we began 'real' life! Things become hectic again with all the 'post-wedding' things like your video, pictures!
I am lucky enough to be the MOH in my best friend's wedding 7/3, so I am living the 'wedding' all over again & I am happy to be doing it! Plus another BM is getting married 1/6!!!!

We go on our honeymoon next week, so things still have been hectic, without the planning of the wedding. When we get back, I look forward to doing our album and video, plus we have a few weddings come up so I can't wait for that either!
I plan on looking at the photos and video whenever I feel sad that it's over! LOL

I know how you feel- I loved every minute of planning - luckily I had christmas when I got back from my HM- it took me a few weeks to fully get over it

It is weird when it took up so much of your life. There is all the post wedding stuff to be done (pics, video, TYs, clean up) and for me I'm going to try to take a class (dance or something) to start doing things for myself again.

I am sooooo happy that it is finally over. I feel as if the weight of the worls has been lifted off my shoulders. Through all the planning I didn't realize how much I love my hubby!
I agree with one of the girls about taking a class to do something for yourself. I'm looking into starting a new hobby to make myself feel special.

Trust me...you'll get over it real soon! It's so great to get your life back. Anytime I have to do anything wedding related I cringe. I STILL have YET to pick our pictures for the album...no desire.

I know a lot of brides on the newlywed board who felt a little sad when it was over, including myself. I think it is normal to feel that way because many of us put so much energy into the planning and our weddings were something we looked forward to and anticipated for some time.
I have taken up scrapbooking and find it is a good use of the same creative energy that went into my wedding planning. Give it some time - and definitely explore some new hobbies and activities.

We were down for about 10 days. Then we realized we were having non-wedding thoughts again. We liked not having wedding planning in our brains 24 hours a day.

I was so sad for a long time, it took me a while to get past it........definitely a few months, but then you get into your married life and the time flies by and you go to other weddings and that's it, you're history!!!!!

Its so weird, I thought I would feel this way, but I really don't. Every once in a while I have the thought 'I can't believe its over,' but am not really sad about it. Its really nice not having to do something wedding related every weekend, and not having weddng thoughts consume my mind. I also have so many weddings and things to go to this year, maybe that has helped. I feel like I can really look forward to the other weddings now that mine is over.

I'm just not sad it's over.
I get sad about not living on LI or missing my parents or other important stuff. But I haven't missed it once. I never thought I'd be like that...but I am glad I feel this way!

I was sad too for awhile--luckily it was summer and then my birthday sooo wasn't too bad. My sister is now engaged so I am putting my wedding planning energy into her! Try to enjoy your newly married life, it will get easier---this is what it's all about.

I was quite sad for a while after. I tried on my dress, sat around in my veil, looked over and over again at pictures from the disposable and all the duplicates everyone gave us, lots of silly stuff like that. After the honeymoon, it got better. Then, we got our proofs, started to think about our video, etc. I know what you are going through, and it does get better. Now, almost 2 months after I am starting to feel normal again and looking towards the new stuff to come (buying a house, having kids, a promotion) and starting to recapture my life pre-wedding. For the year before the wedding I can't remember having a normal conversation where the wedding didn't come up. It's now nice to have regular conversations with my friends again.
The only thing I can't really do without feeling sad is go on the '06 board. Seeing all the girls so close gets me a little down still.
