so scared update

Someone from National Grid just came to the door and said they needed to see the bill payer to see a copy of the bill. I saw no National Grid car/truck outside.

I called the cops..they came...My Dad & FIL are on their way over. I don't think it was National Grid...I'm so scared.

My Dad, DH, and FIL are all here with me now. My Mom called National Grid and they said it was NOT them. They said that people go around pretending to be National Grid, asking for the bill, and then try to get you to switch to their company.....or it could've been a crazy.

The cop is scanning the area right now....and I was alone when he came.

Thanks for your concern girls.

We're going to be taking some extra safety measures around here from now on.

You did the right thing by calling the cops and your family.

yeah, that would bug me out. I don't think national grid can do that.

Someone saying they were from Con Ed came to my house months ago. It seemed fishy to me, but I talked to the guy anyway. Once he asked for a bill so he could see how much we were paying, I knew something was up. I sent him on his way and chalked it up to him being a Con ED competitor.

Jen you did the right thing. It was probably a competitor. A couple of months ago someone came to the door saying they were from ConEd and wanted to speak to the bill payer. DH came to the door and showed the guy his Con Ed ID and asked for this guys. When he didnt have one he told him to leave or he would call the cops. Jerry also called the company and found out that they werent sending anyone out. It was someone trying to get us to switch.

Girls always ask for ID's when someone comes to the door like that. I know the ConEd employeess always have their ID on them and I am sure National Grid does too.
