So upset

We just found out that the short sale we wanted to put an offer on has a couple of offers already

:( I don't know anything about realty , but does this mean you aren't going to get it now? Or does it just lessen the possiblity of getting it b/c other people want it as well?

Well we dont know how much the other offers are. we can still submit an offer.

Well we dont know how much the other offers are. we can still submit an offer.

Hmmm that's kind of $ucky.
Hopefully the offer you submit will be just right and no one will outbit you!

that happens with a lot of short sales....you can still put in an offer though! and you can do multiple offers if you see more than one house that you like....

if you dont want to deal with competition i would tell the agent that from now on you only want to see houses with no contingencies/no offers - and if you happen to come across another short sale you like see if they will accept only your offer....

with ours they wouldnt at first - but then we decided to increase our offer b/c we were getting nervous about someone putting in another offer - and once we increased our offer the seller decided to take it off the market so that we had no competition.....

short sales are really crappy....im like so close to having acceptance but now its negotiating so that we can close without any problems - i am so afraid......they really are the worst i hate that the house we fell in love with is a short sale - its really an emotional rollercoaster

Yea this whole short sale thing sounds like a headache How can you submit more than one offer?

Our agent said that we should still make an offer because the other buyers might have found other houses by now or could still back out and you never know how much they offered.

I would still make an offer. I would just make sure its the best offer that you can give. Unfortunately, houses that are priced right in this market usually have multiple offers and go for very close to asking price. At least thats what im seeing in my real estate office. ( i do mortgages for prudential)

I would put in an offer anyway. You never know with these short sales bc you need a prequal now. Someone who put in a bid might not get theirs so that would exclude them from getting the house. KWIM?

nope, didnt hear anything - hopefully next week

if you put an offer on this house and continue looking and you see another house you like you can make an offer on that house too. basically you could put offers ofnmultiple properties. at least in florida you can - b/c its easy to get out of contract even if your short sale offer is accepted and you dont want it anymore. you can do it so you aren't waiting for 1 house - so if your offer is not accepted, you are outbid or rejected you still have the process going with another house - kind of like back up......

let us know if you guys decide to make an offer....ill keep my fingers crossed for you!
