So why can't I .......

Scan my proofs into shutterfly and order copies from them for way cheaper?

(besides that it is illegal)

For smaller prints.....4x6 and 5x7s that is exactly what I did.....for larger ones or ones I wanted specially cropped I went through my photographer.

Our quality was great. I think it depends on your scanning.

if you scan at a high resolution, you absolutely can get high quality pictures. Great for 4x6 and 5x7's.

If you have any photo software (like photoshop) you can also touch up the proofs and crop to your liking.

I wondered about that but didn't want to cheap out for the pictures I was giving friends and family (or to frame myself). I knew the quality would be best at my studio and also wondered about the Shutterfly paper quality over time - if it would hold up as well as studio paper.

4x6 and wallets come out very good. I ordered a couple of wallets from them and actually thought they came out better than the wallet size thanks yous from my photographer.

We got a letter from our photographer giving us rights to all negatives etc, so it was ok. The largest I got from them was a wallet size. Scan at high resolution and you should be good to go

I agree with the girls, I got good quality pics from Shutterfly that I gave to family, besides I didn't want to give my photographer another dime!

CWC only gives you those right after 1 year. We have them now. So Sunny can't do that.

Sunny what we did was we got a 11x14 and I think three 8x10's that ended up included in our package.
And then my MIL ordered so extra which she thought the price was crazy but they came out so good. Did you get the second copy of the proofs ?? We didn't know we could do that till after so we were pissed.

Either way you want to wait till your album shots are donen before you start giving him the shots for reprints if any of the pictures are the same.
