Someone's beautiful (not mine) thoughts on being married....

FRom the DC NEST BOARD:

10 months ago my life revolved around which candle would burn best in my centerpieces. the furthest thing from my mind was making my house look like a home. now as i am quickly approaching the year mark, i realize my values have changed greatly. my life is wonderful, so much less stress. my husband and i view our house as our home a place to continue to grow and build our life. appliances overshadow if this napkin will look ok with the bridesmaid dresses.

my life once stunted by a wedding has grown into a wonderful world. reminance of the wedding are found in boxes. picture are under the end table and are rarely looked at. our lives have changed so much in 10 months. i am so excited to continue to grow. some day those pictures will be looked at with such a strange familiarity. we will say, 'i can't believe how young we look.' and we will smile and say how much we love each other.

i'm so happy to have moved on to a world of the married folk. as much as i loved planning my wedding and how perfect it came together my life is so much happier as a wife than it was as a fiance.

Aw, thanks for posting, Jean. This is so true. I wholly agree; this is the best, most stress-free time of my life and there is so much once you get beyond the wedding!

Wow, as I sit here taking a 'break' from packing our belongings en route to our new life, I completely agree with those beautiful words. Just a few hours ago I was putting our HM tickets and papers in a box, throwing out menus from catering halls of the past and saying to my husband how much life has changed in such a little amount of time...being married is so much better than being engaged. And the future looks so bright!

that was nice

I feel that way now, after only being married 5 months. wedding planning seems SO inconsequential now.

Glad you all liked it--just struck a chord in me so I thought I would share!

I've been going through the mix of emotions now. The wedding was last Saturday, and I've been actually a little depressed. I guess so much time and effort went into planning this amazing day, and now that it's over, I feel so sad. I'm hoping I'm not the only one who feels this way!?

But, I truly do look forward to feeling those words that you wrote Jean. I just need to give it time. Right now, I have the HM to look forward to! I think I'm going to cut and paste that out and keep it with me or hang it somewhere. I think it would be a great reminder to me of the best parts to come, right!?

COngrats on your wedding! I think a lot of us (me included) were depressed after it was over--hard after you spend all that time and energy and then it's done! It WILL get better---try to focus on your new marriage with DH!

ps I didn't write those words myself but found them and they resonated with me.

Have fun on your HM! When and where?
