Sooo DH is leaving me......edited to add......a life insurance question

for 4 months!! AHHhh hes going to work for his uncles company that does hurricane reief work something to do with the telephone poles....he leaves friday morning! i am starting to freak! we have lived together for almost 4 years and i have never lived on my own! i know it`ll be fine i`m just nervous!
he`s doin it for us so i understand why it just $ucks. he will be making (hopefully) his monthly salery now weekly...so it will really help us out. especially because we are planning to move to vegas in FEB.



i was just talking to my DH`s uncle and he was saying that i should get some life insurance before he goes....anyone know anything about it?? how much i should take out and for how long!?

Awww you'll do fine! Mine left me for 3 months just a week after our wedding for some consulting work..and we too lived together for years.....try and find things you've always wanted to do and never had time for...or sign up for a class or something...time will fly if you keep busy!

Thanks!! yeahh i am planning on talking a few dance classes and start hitting the gym. i have always wanted to get in shape and its so hard with DH around because he can eat anything he wants! ( soooo not fair!) but now i have no excuse! the ice cream and snacks dont have to be around. and now i wont feel like i have to come home right after work and do dinner and stuff. the hardest part i think will be once i hit the bed!! i HATE sleeping alone lol

i dont know how you delt with him leaving right after the wedding!!! wow! u r strong!!!

Wow 4 months is a long time! I'm sure it will be hard but you can do it.

nope no weekends! he will be working 15 hour days for 13 days....they get 1 day off every 2 weeks!! he may even be living out of a trailer with like 5 other guys for a few weeks untill the towns are up and running again.

his unlce was there for...forever with katrina and they didnt have showers or anything!! they eat the same type meals that they have in the army those meals ready to eat kind of things.....its gonna be a lot harder on him then me!!

LOL yeahhhh i spent the night with out him last week on friday and it was nice to have the whole bed to myself!!!! and he has better pillows so i guess i can look foward to that!! hahaha

well when we first met he lived overseas and while living together he'd be on the road 2-3 weeks at a time for work...so i was kind of used to it...try and look forward to having that time to focus on yourself...and send little texts or e-mails when you can..they'll make you smile!

Awww Danielle, I'm sorry to hear this, that's a really long time, but I know it will go FAST once he's there. And what a great opportunity to stash away some dough, it'll really give you a leg up on the post-wedding financial trauma!!!!

And I'm with Val, where do I sign DH up??? BTW he's a GLASSBLOWER, there must be TOOOOONS of broken glass (neon, specifically) that needs to be replaced!!!!

NO unfortunatly i wont be able to visit him at all. He will be living out of a trailer for a while and be working far too longto be able to see him. he will literally get enough hours off to sleep before he starts the next day!

Thanks!! i am sure it will go quickly too! i am nervous and excited at the same time. i will get to do some things for me that i have been putting off....and maybe i can finally get started on the wedding scrapbook! lol

as far as getting your DH in there...i have no clue how that works. the only reason mine is going is because his uncles busisness that is based in texas has a contract with AT&T i beleive and thru that he has a connection with the government to go do the same sort of work when there is damage like this.
but lol i am sureeeee there is tons of neon that needs replacing!!!
