hmmmmm i think if your not having a wedding planner you really need to designate something to be your liason between you and the vendors. there was so much i wanted to say to them and i wasnt able to because i was being whisked away by guests or dancing and because of that alot of my songs i wanted werent played and my photographer missed alot of shots. i think a good point of advice someone gave me was to stand back and soak everything in because it goes so fast and if your on the fence about whether toi go to your cocktail hour or not go im so glad i did because i got to really mingle and see my guests which was great

dance your a$$ off! Make sure you eat something...nibble here and there. SMile...if anything goes wrong, just keep smiling! Don't forget the reason why you are getting married...don't move too far from him! Breathe!
Designate stuff! make copies of your must take list, your song list, seating plan, etc and have someone hold onto all of it!

All of the above....and a few more....
Get a video....you miss alot of what goes on and forget a bunch of things....i got my uncut version and it was like being at my wedding again because i missed a lot that he caught.
Have the rehearsal dinner if you can a few days before or even the weekend before. It makes that night much more relaxing and you won't tire yourself out. We did ours the weekend before and it was such a great idea.
If you can get a photojournalist i would. I didn't and totally regret it. A lot of my pictures were the posed ones and i have hardly any that caught the details of the day or the unposed ones....kind of stunk.
Don't get upset about anything that might happen that day....it goes by too fast to be upset about anything.
Dance and dance early. You get the party going...i find if the bride and groom don't get out there, none of your guests will be rushing out there until you guys go out. Me and DH were out there right away and it set a tone...our dance floor was packed the entire night.
Get flats for your reception. I did and danced like crazy and my feet were not hurting me at all.
Bring someone to the bathroom with you each time...you will need the help.
Most of all try and take everythihng it....it goes fast and you want to take it all in.
Enjoy every minute of your honeymoon!

Reapply your lipstick many times. I only did once and after seeing the photos, I wish I had done it many, many more times!

Relax and enjoy your day. No matter what happens remember you will be one the only one who realizes everything that didn't go as plannned everyone else has no idea exactly how things were supposed to go, so don't worry about the little things. Take a deep breath and smile. Make a list of photos you really would like to have and stick to it. Otherwise relax.

Don't forget to say thank you to your vendors..one of the best compliments you can give is to your photographer, band, wait staff....etc...wouldn't it be nice to get thank yous from your bosses and colleagues?

Try not to stress out the week before. My wedding was on a Saturday and I was so nauseous and anxious the WHOLE week. I know it's going to be hard to relax but I was a mess and that was one thing I would have loved to change if I could have.

Realize you cannot control the outcome of everything that day. Just keep smiling and enjoy every minute of it and make sure your husband is enjoying it right along with you.
Eat throughout the day
Don't get held up by any chatty guests
Dance as much as you can!

The best thing I did pre-wedding was to spend the day with my Mom the Wednesday before my wedding at the spa. She really appreciated it (I bought her her services as a gift) and we got to spend some time together. Since my DH and I did most of the wedding planning ourselves, she felt very left out on a lot of the details. This really made her feel like the 'mother of the bride'!
The best thing DH and I did the actual day of the wedding was just to enjoy it. I am an event planner as a profession so I was having these nightmares that I would be crazed on the day of my wedding with the details. I didn't let anything bother me. I was on cloud nine the entire day! I relaxes and let the day take control of itself. We made lots of lists and passed along all the details so we didn't have to worry about anything. Also, we stopped at every table to say thanks to our guests for coming. We got married on Thanksgiving weekend so our wedding took many of our guests away from their families. We wanted them to all know how much we appreciated them for being there. We had about 285 people at the wedding and we got to see them all. And, we even had time to dance our butts off and eat!! I am really not sure how we got it all in!!!

Definitely designate!
Trust your vendors and take their advice. They are professionals and know what they are doing.
Have a blast!!!

If you're taking pictures on a grassy area and you're wearing heals and you're going to be standing there for a while- have a board of something to stand on. My feet got sore from that and not from my shoes. I was standing on the balls of my feet for so long on that lawn. It took about a week for the numbness to leave my toes
