Sort of spinoff to the wearing shoes in the house post

What are some things that guests do in your house that get under your skin?

I have a couple.

1. Using my decorative towels to wipe their hands, especially since I leave out fingertip towels when guests are over.

2. Not using one of the 350,000 coasters I have on every table.

OMG this reminds me, I can't stand when people turn up the volume on my tv. I have super sensitive ears, it's low for a reason.

Throwing bottles or cans in the garbage. Unless they're OOT folks...but most of our friends are from Queens or Brooklyn...hello! we have the same recycling laws and don't need a fine from the sanitation department! Thanks for making me pick through the trash...

Ohhhh the coasters thing is HUGE for me. When I see someone put a drink down NEXT to a coaster, I make a production of saying 'Oh here, let me just put this on the coaster for you' and hope they get the picture!

I also hate when people leave the bathroom door open after they use it while we have the a/c on ... the door was closed when you got there ... get the hint. AND when they leave the toilet seat up ... because that is just gross.

Someone I know puts a ribbon around her decorative towels so that people know not to use them! you can see them in the mirror:

LOL OMG... Im speechless... No need to get that drastic now When I had the last superbowl party, people most def used the deorative towels (men dont know the diff and neither do some women), i threw them in the wash and they turned out fine... Oh and my hand towel is right next to the sink, practically on top of it and people still dont get the hint

Back to original topic, I HATEEEEE when people put their drinks/keys/bags etc on my nice new expensive wood dining room table... I have 6 placemats on it that pretty much cover all areas yet you still feel the need to place all your crap directly on the wood... whyyyyyyyy

OMG... and have you ever had anyone open your drawers/closets right in front of you? one of dh's friends did this when i was showing them around the house and of course he opens the drawer with the undies, bras, etc

Ugh this annoys me!! Or just not throwing them out at all!! Most of DH's friends leave them littered across the coffee table so I can go around and clean them up later on.

1. Shoving a pizza box under our sofa. (this only happened once & it was DHs best man that did it - he didn't feel like getting up to put the box on the counter)

2. Sitting on the sofa pillows. (hello, my face lays on that pillow, I don't want your @ss on it - we take the pillows off the sofa when we have certain friends over)

helping themselves to things that they aren't suppose to eat.

i just recently had this happen to me. I bought strawberries an chocolate dip for dessert. a friend decided to help himself and give his kids 1/2 the strawberries to eat for dessert!

UM hello???? why didn't u ask first before you took 1/2 the strawberries

so then when i brought them out for dessert i was like sorry im lacking in strawberries someones kid ate HALF the pack...and shot him a look...

when people put a sweating dripping glass on the wood floors... like duh... do you not think that is gonna leave a permanent mark????\

Also, now we just added a 2nd bathroom, I would think that people would use that one instead of the upstairs one that we get ready in and is by the bathrooms... people are not catching on to that yet.

Eh, I'm pretty easy. I don't really have anything that ppl do to annoy me in my home. Oh, except when my SIL stayed over once and got too drunk and decided to throw up all over my living room...that really ticked me off

Haha my mom would ALWAYS yell at me for this when I was a kid. I remember first I thought she meant I shouldn't use it as a washcloth, because I think one time I did that, and then I used it as a towel, and she still got mad. I was so confused. I guess I'm not sophisticated enough to understand the idea of decorative towels (or anything else that's a usable item that you're not supposed to use...pillows, for example).

Def the coaster thing annoys me!!!!!....also I hate when guests put their feet on the glass coffee table...

Also one time dh's friends played lrc on our glass table and the dice scratched it all up....

Believe it or not - it's my mom!!! Everytime we have her over she just opens the fridge or pantry and starts eating!! Say, I'm having everyone over for a BBQ - my mom will open up the desert as soon as she walks in and start picking at it. She does it to everyone - not just at my house.

I say 'mom - the dinner is going to be ready in 5 minutes' and she'll say 'I want a snack now'
Me: Ok - there are appetizers I'm putting out right now
Her: I don't want that - I want cake or cookies.

It makes me crazy.

It makes me crazy when people go in my fridge in general. I don't know why? It just does! Close friends and fam I don't care, but randoms? Cmon. My friends fiancee was over a few weeks ago and while we were all hanging out outside, took the last bottle of water...when I went to go to bed, I was like

The other one is people going in the house dripping wet, after we swim. Yeah, I'd rather that than you pee in my pool but can you MAYBE towel off first? And WIPE YOUR FEET!

Closing the bathroom door. We have no window and a moisture problem, so whenever someone closes the door behind them, I have to follow behind and open it. I have to say though, I never knew people went so crazy over decorative towels. I didn't grow up in a house with decorative anything and now I only put one set of towels out. I could care less if they even match lol. I also always use my IL's decorative towels..and on purpose bc I'm sure it annoys the heel out of her
