Sound Beach & Middle Island - What kind of areas ?

Sound Beach & Middle Island - What kind of areas ?

I haven`t been to Sound Beach for awhile but what I can tell you is that if you work/commute to Manhattan, you are in for a LOOOONNG ride. It is extreme north and very far east on Long Island (around exit 70ish of L.I.E.). Middle Island is not quite as far but from what I understand those areas are starting to boom in terms of population because they are the only few remaining 'affordable yet decent' areas on Long Island. Middle Island had average/decent schools but the community itself is not really developed, which means that it`s more undeveloped than developed. There`s not alot around in terms of activity/shopping but I have seen some major companies putting up contracts for development out there. So give it a few years and it`ll look like Everytown, USA. Sound Beach is beautiful (private beaches down every block, etc.) but again, I didn`t see it hopping with activity or shopping and you`ll have to do some driving to get to anywhere.
