Speaking of Marraige License..Am I even Married!

DH and I do not remember signing our marraige license at all. We didnt sign it at rehearsal when we bought it or even the day of...Our BM and GM did not sign it either..so how come we have our marraige license...Isnt that weird? Mind u we got it in less than 2 weeks.

yes, you are married.


I am from NJ. The way it works here is that the Bride and Groom sign the marriage license a few weeks before the wedding. Then, someone prints out a marriage certificate that is signed by 2 witnesses at the wedding. We had my Matron of honor and best man sign it.

My guess is that even if no one at your wedding signed it, your church could have had others sign it as witnesses and then they sent it in to the state, because you did eventually receive your marriage license.

And, by the way, I think that all of you New Yokr brides are spoiled with your marriage licenses! We in NJ have to go out to the health department and pick up our own copies
